Its 40% off over the weekend too.

This is on offer at the moment, but after doing a bit of looking around it appears it's a dead game. Averaging something like 30 players. Not even a full servers worth.

Classic early release hype. There was thousands of players online on EA-Release night and it f3cked right up.

Naturally there was the fanboi'ism that shouted as hard as their lungs could muster the wind for "this is an early release alpha stop complaining" but when a game is sold on hype and expectation it's beyond that, people expect at least a half working iteration of what's to come. This game just failed on that night. It probably would have procured many a fanbase prepared to wait and forgive if it wasn't for the hype.

The gaming community is justifiably growing ever more cynical of these early release debacles. Rightly so.
If Battalion 44 is anything to go by, well, it at least secured it's place in gaming history as the straw that broke the camel's back, the game that promised a return to proper "raw" gaming. Ha! WW3 is square bang centre of the same hype train. Goodbye small dev support, they played us all with the same hyperbole that is now becoming standard.

Yeah the game is not so good , whenever I go into the game the ping is way high and it's very buggy and sluggish the fps seems ok at first then they drop so low I just cant play properly and saying nother about the guns I had now seem to have bits missing ie no rifle barrel no hand gun and so on .

Played yesterday (hadn't played since 0.2) and the game seemed in a much better state, had a really fun round. Playerbase was decent yesterday as well, if the playerbase continues to increase and the hard work from the devs keep up I can see this becoming a successful game.

What are they charging for the closed beta? Might give this a go seeing as Battlefield 2042 has been a big disappointment.
$15 or 13€
I have not followed this game. But at this point one thing it has going for it - it will surely be better than BF2042.

Slightly different niche tho, 40 player multiplayer

I bought this on release and its always ran like a dog.

Maybe they've tackled this with the new version, but i had high hopes for it based on the original trailers thinking we'd get a Bf4 killer whilst Bfv sucked on release... and it was mostly unplayable all the times I tried it.

If you read the forums there'd often be the excuse of performance optimizations coming last... Normally when I see that, I take it to mean never.

I wont be throwing any more money at it.

But not when the quoted message was originally written, in 2019. It was in Early Access back then, and wasn't great.

To be honest, there aren't many Early Access games that were great. It's the reason why so many hate "Early Access" games.
