Hell no.

I like having one machine for everything, and the only games I play right now are Guild Wars 2 and Star Citizen alpha so consoles are useless to me.

I have a gaming PC that I play on a 40" tv and mainly play games that require a pad. Kind of a mix of the two, but 60fps on pretty much every game instead of 30.

Only get a PS when an exclusive tickles my fancy, but so far none have this generation. Maybe when the second Last of Us game is released I might.

I would only want a console for exclusive titles that are denied to us. Other than that, I can't imagine being so restricted. The loading screens! Oh god I couldn't take the loading.

What's the point? With so many former console exclusives finding their way onto the platform, The PC is basically a console nowadays. I'm playing on a 32" 1440p monitor with a pad so it's practically the same but with better graphics/fps.

Since most exclusives I care for are already on PC, the only games I'd be willing to give up PC gaming for would be the Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yakuza series because it's one of the best and most entertaining franchises ever made IMO.

Yakuza 4 sported a world probably smaller than Novigrad in the Witcher 3, yet it had more clever distractions and more purpose to it than the entire Witcher 3 map (also better combat and better RPG elements:p). Says enough that it took me the same amount of time to finish both games with most side stuff (around 75-80h).

I'm not going to give up PC gaming for anything else but I'm considering grabbing a used PS4 when Yakuza 6 and Kiwami land in Europe.

EDIT: I've actually had a PS2 and a PS3 and vastly preferred them to PC (didn't even have a gaming PC back then) but the times were different and there were a lot more worthwhile exclusives than nowadays. I bought the PS2 at the end of its lifetime and had tremendous fun with it. The PS3 was really ahead of its time and also delivered in terms of exclusives. The PS4 and XBone are just low-end PCs in fancy boxes with not that many games I'd like to play as of now.

Would you consider dropping £500 on the new PS4 OR Xbox and give up on PC gaming. I'm not suggesting throwing your PC in the bin, just not playing games on it.

Edited OP to be a little clearer.

Er, no. Why would anyone do that unless you had a compelling reason to do so i.e. you'd moved into a place so small you can't justify the space or it becomes the "family" xbox, etc and the missus doesn't like you heading off to your man cave to play games on your PC?

Consoles are fine for people who want something that "just works" and they don't have to go to the trouble of matching hardware, getting software to co-operate i.e. drivers, etc. Or simply can't justify the cost of a medium to high end PC. And believe it or not they are the majority of the people out there. But I'm not one of them and neither are most of the folk on this forum.

The load screens on my PS3 used to drive me nuts. Head to a menu... loadscreen. Head for the track... loadscreen. Want to watch a replay... loadscreen. Grind, clunk, rattle. Grind clunk rattle. Aaaargh! And god forbid your hardware dies on you. What do you mean I can't recover my data from a dead PS3?!

I do the same but with a 34" 1440p monitor or a 40" HDTV depending on how I'm feeling, I wonder how many former console gamers still prefer a gamepad and a comfy sofa to a keyboard and an office chair?

I've had a PSX, PS2 and a PS3. They were fun, until I discoverd how much preferable PC gaming is. I've no interest in buying a console now unless theres an exclusive title I simply have to have.

No.

Mains reason, mouse and keyboard input!

Second biggest I play a lot of free to play and there doesn't seem to be as big of a selection on console.

PC gaming is not as fun as it once was.

Its now 100% cash cow for everything there are very few games out there which still have the love of the devs to keep it going.

Exactly my thoughts,There has not been one game i have enjoyed since BF:Bad company 2..all have been rubbish and DLC based crap cash cow.

Not to mention pretty much a lot of the online PC multiplayer games now have a lot of cheaters (BF4 im looking at you),Its a growing business that earns the cheat makers tons of money...you can see how big of a problem this has become with The division making an announcement not long ago on it.

I was once PC elite,Didn't game on consoles at all but lately im growing tired of online cheating in PC games.

As for would i give up PC gaming and go console entirely,Back when i only had my PS3 i would have said NO because the PS3 graphics done my head in in some games,BUT with the PS4 now..YES very happy with it and i would sell my PC no issues at all to entirely go Console.

i think id miss FPS games on pc though,Would take getting used to them on PS4.

Nope, my pc will always be my main gaming machine. I considered getting a ps4 to play some exclusives a little while ago though I might bite if some of the best ps3 exclusives get ported over.

Yeah, i preferred consoles back then because many of the best games in the genres I really liked at the time (platformers, action games, racers, fighters etc.) were exclusives but it's simply not the case anymore. The majority of games are multiplatform and the ones that aren't don't interest me enough to consider getting a PS4/XBone (except Yakuza of course). Resident Evil and MGS4 are already on PC... Forza is on PC... Even Shenmue III is coming to PC and there's a decent chance we'll see Tekken 7 and Final Fantasy XIV at some point:eek: Also hoping for Red Dead Redemption 2.

If Sega miraculously decided to bring Yakuza to the platform I'd lose practically the last compelling reason to ever consider a current gen console.

I have a decent PC and a ps4 which I have had since launch. Don't really use the ps4 though. Thinking about selling it to be honest. Serious lack of killer exclusives.

I did - 10 years ago when the 360 came out. I do look over the fence with green eyes from time to time but I wouldn't own a PC box again now. I'd settle for a laptop with a discrete GPU though but they are too expensive for my liking.

Hell no. Too much variety on the PC to consider it and games are generally more expensive on console anyway.

With XBox Play Anywhere just announced, there's even less reason to consider an XB1 now IMHO.

since i've grown very bored of the pc game market, i probably would and have been considering it but i would very much miss keyboard/mouse controls

but then i'd only miss keyboard/mouse on RTS and FPS games which i would be interested in neither of them on a console.

No chance for me. Consoles have their place but I buy them and they gather dust, so no point anymore. I like what my PC can do as well as play games.

Until the future that has a new system where I can accurately control in game movements with my hands or hell, my mind, keyboard and mouse is simply the most accurate and thus best method for me. I am utterly useless with anything first or third person when using a controller also.

Building a more compact machine that is also aesthetic and wouldn't look amiss in your living room has gotten a lot easier and cheaper over last few years as well.

Saying that Sony does have quite a few games that I would love on PC but I wouldn't jump ship just for that.
