Yes, already done it. Well, the older model PS4.
What were your main reasons for doing do?

Never. The games on the PC are more my taste being a massive fan of strategy games. It's also far cheaper to buy games. I do play some first person shooters also I just loathe playing one with a controller. Tried Doom recently on a Xbox One and I (still) hate them. I do own a PS4 and One though as I like some of their exclusives.

The Last of Us looks great and runs really good too, though.... :/I got a new c chassis ps4 for free and still barely use it. Completed the last of us, bloodborne and a few hours on destiny. The graphics and frame rate are poor as are the load times. I do like the controller though and prefer it in some ways over the xbox one wireless. The lack of being able to type in multiplayer games kills it for me.
Yes. I'm considering it. PC gaming isn't what it used to be. Hacking, sloppy drivers, buggy releases, ill-optimized games.
I could barely run Far Cry Primal at a stable 60 FPS on a £3,000 PC. That **** should not be happening. Developers have gotten lazy due to the much smaller market.
PC gaming is now out selling Consoles... it's larger and growing. source (one of many)
Indicating additional trends in the way gaming companies monetise their games, many of the PC market’s most popular games fall into the category of free-to-play (F2P) titles such as League of Legends and Dota2, both of which are released through Steam.
I wonder how many of the numbers are for 50p indie games.

Take it with a pinch of salt. That particular article was talking about 2013 sales, where PC was up against the ancient old consoles for much of the year (and I'm not sure I believe it anyway)
Looking at 2015 (see This article), overall sales revenues were similar, but 9 out of the top 10 PC games by revenue were F2P, with only GTAV making the list as a paid title. And non-F2P PC games made less revenue than "social network games" (I guess those are things like Candy Crush (?)).
Taking the rest of the figures at face value, PC had $7b revenue from traditional purchase games, whereas console had $25b (less any proportion which is F2P - do you get F2P on console?)
PC gaming is still more profitable than Consoles. The bottom line does not lie....
