I switched from console gaming to PC solely in 2011, Never looked back only thing I don't like is the amount of cheaters it's quite rampant in MP, I love PC Gaming with the freedom it provides you.

Not a chance. My consoles are purely for exclusives, all other games I buy on PC as even the badly optimised ones still play better than they do on console.

Never. The games on the PC are more my taste being a massive fan of strategy games. It's also far cheaper to buy games. I do play some first person shooters also I just loathe playing one with a controller. Tried Doom recently on a Xbox One and I (still) hate them. I do own a PS4 and One though as I like some of their exclusives.

Yeah I really wish the last of us devs released a properly done copy for the PC :o I would literally vanish forever.

nope, just cant get on with controllers. That's if the games I like are even on there.
laptop was less than a console anyway and plays games fine.

What were your main reasons for doing do?

Mainly because my gaming friends only game on console, most of the communities I used to game in on PC have died a death (old CS etc). I tended to only have a quick blast on TF2 every now and again so felt like it was a waste.

Can't say I miss it, but I do like to keep an eye out in here to see what's going on with PC games every now and again.

I got a new c chassis ps4 for free and still barely use it. Completed the last of us, bloodborne and a few hours on destiny. The graphics and frame rate are poor as are the load times. I do like the controller though and prefer it in some ways over the xbox one wireless. The lack of being able to type in multiplayer games kills it for me.

Honestly I bought a Xbox 360 once just to play Red Dead (no pc version only reason) and I played it through to the end and I don't think the 360 has ever been switched on since.
sorry but anyone who says consoles are better "overall" than pc's is just clinically insane.
They might be better at one or two things than a pc but overall nah no chance PC wins hands down.
When I can hook up 3 screens to my console, play a game on one screen, watch a film on another and do a bit of streaming on the third and quite happily flick between all three and do all that with just a few clicks on a mouse or a few keyboard presses then it might be close.

The Last of Us looks great and runs really good too, though.... :/

Yes. I'm considering it. PC gaming isn't what it used to be. Hacking, sloppy drivers, buggy releases, ill-optimized games.

I could barely run Far Cry Primal at a stable 60 FPS on a £3,000 PC. That **** should not be happening. Developers have gotten lazy due to the much smaller market.

PC gaming is now out selling Consoles... it's larger and growing. source (one of many)

Every once in a while, the aristocracy longs of a simple, less complicated, peasant life. But when the spartan reality and unpleasantness of it all becomes unbearable, they will quickly retreat back to the comfortable modernity of 16nm FinFet process in dazzling 4K.

I wonder how many of the numbers are for 50p indie games.

Indicating additional trends in the way gaming companies monetise their games, many of the PC market’s most popular games fall into the category of free-to-play (F2P) titles such as League of Legends and Dota2, both of which are released through Steam.

Take it with a pinch of salt. That particular article was talking about 2013 sales, where PC was up against the ancient old consoles for much of the year (and I'm not sure I believe it anyway)

Looking at 2015 (see This article), overall sales revenues were similar, but 9 out of the top 10 PC games by revenue were F2P, with only GTAV making the list as a paid title. And non-F2P PC games made less revenue than "social network games" (I guess those are things like Candy Crush (?)).

Taking the rest of the figures at face value, PC had $7b revenue from traditional purchase games, whereas console had $25b (less any proportion which is F2P - do you get F2P on console?)

PC gaming is still more profitable than Consoles. The bottom line does not lie....

Do we have information on which bottom line is more profitable?

If you just mean revenue (rather than profit), then yes PC earns more.

But I wouldn't be crowing too much about being a specialist F2P/social-network gaming platform. Unless you're into that sort of thing, I suppose. Proper gaming sales are dominated by console.

I still prefer to game on PC, playing traditional-purchase games (other than TF2, where I don't micro-transact), but let's stay realistic and sensible about the platform. We are, after all, smarter than console gamers ;)
