Would you go to a theme park on your own?

Yup, had a merlin pass when I managed to get one for cheap. Took friends with the vouchers and took myself everytime I was near a park even if it was just for a couple of hours. Less pressure on the day to do "everything" and enjoyed it. Fright night at Thorpe Park was good because everyone looked creepy anyway and I could blend in :D

Loads of people go to theme parks on their own - I prefer company.

Plus the UK's theme parks... :o

..... this is a theme park:

RIP Top Thrill Dragster tho :(

Yes I would, just do and ride whatever you want. No arguments or nothing. People go on holidays alone, go out alone, dine alone and live alone.

Don’t see a problem. As others have said you see loads of people go on rides on their own. Even during mid week expect school kids as when I’ve taken my neice/nephew during school time this was school trip.

Sure why not.

Thankfully people are much less bothered about other people these days. Not that it ever bothered me. But if it did you, then don't worry.

Go, have fun.

It's not my thing but if it was I would, I am a bit of a ;Billy no mates by choice tbh so virtually all my activities are done alone

But surely an experienced shared is an experience doubled.
I went on holiday on my own many years ago ...never again

@Participant - When my eyesight used to be better, I solo'd Alton Towers a few times. Late September / early October was the best time of the year, so that's coming up right now. Most rides are walk-on. Also, if you can commit to a specific day, look on eBay for Alton tickets for that day. I've got away with paying £7 or £10 which was accepted at the gate fine.

If you're looking to do other similar things to Alton at this time of the year, you can also try the Nottingham Goose Fair and Hull Fair. Both are MASSIVE fairgrounds with a lot of spin rides and a couple of coasters to boot. Then book a single room in the Premier Inn and Park Hotel & Apartments respectively at around £45 a night. You can look at other theme parks as well e.g. Drayton Manor or if you want to venture further, then Blackpool Pleasure Beach (and Blackpool Illuminations while you're at it).

Shows confidence and i dont give a **** mentality fir things like this, dinner, movie on your own etc..

Saying that though always handy to have a bag holder

I love fast / 'scary' rides like roller coasters etc.

I go to them with my family sometimes but, apart from their company of course :'), it's generally an awful experience at the weekend / in school holidays for all the obvious reasons, i.e. queues, children constantly complaining or asking for things, and general reluctance to go on decent rides.

Therefore I'm thinking about going to Alton Towers for a day on my own to scratch the itch and rinse loads of rides, as it should be really quiet on a random day in the middle of the week in school term.

I'm 42 FML and friends are all likely to be working and unlikely to take a day off for this (although I haven't asked and not sure I want to anyway).

Sad?

I would, I've been to concerts by myself too. I went to Alton Towers last week, with My wife and two friends. It was great, lots of rides had no queues. Only exception was the Smiler, which was about 15 mins wait. Oblivion said 10 mins but we went straight on. Going on Galatia and then Nemesis twice in the space of 15 mins made me feel a little unusual. Nemesis is closing for 2 years at the end of this season to have its track replaced fyi.

One of my Son in Laws does this because my daughter doesn't like Theme Parks.
He jokes about standing in the paedo line because he does get 'looks' now and then.
