WOW Cata re-roller guild interest

Oh I didnt realise you didnt have the game :p

Its about £20 perhaps £25 for game plus all expansion up until Wrath which, if you are a slow leveller as you say, should see you good for a month if not more depending on your speed. Then you are looking at £25 or so for new Cata expansion.

I have the original wow game but none of the expantions!

Bah cant be a blood elf or goblin :(

We are on Defias Brotherhood. Ofcourse like all MMO's, Healers and Tanks are appreciated, but were aren't going to force you into being one (Well I won't, can't speak for the others :p )

EDIT: Also seeing as you had the game before, I could send you a Scroll of resurrection allowing you to play your old account for a little while, unless you prefer starting a new account?

Aye, does not seem to be the usual "/2 anal [mutilate] ROFLCOPTER" spam that plagues every other server in the EU.
I've seen one attempt at it, and the guy promptly left when nobody joined in his little game

Saying that, I was in Orgimmar(However you spell it) a couple of days ago, and there were quite a few people doing that. But I will take your word for other servers being a lot worse.

It doesn't take aslong as many people think. It took me a couple of days to get to half way, but my internet was playing up at the time and the patcher was going at about 30kb/s. However after starting it up again a few days later, I was getting 300kb/s and got the final half done in a few hours.

Ok, on my laptop it was awfully slow, but it wireless and the connection isnt so good:/ wired should be better

Casual.

We have a raiding arm (starts next week) and they will of course be focused and intend to do really well.

But we are a casual raiding guild so whilst the raiders can be as serious as they like there are plenty of people (myself included) who are there just to have fun and do whatever they want to do in a fun and social environment. So far its been a really nice atmosphere, can't suit everyone but the majority are happy.

sounds great :)
i mean when i used to play, i was in my friends guild (the guild actually had their own section called "Joe's friends" becuase there were so many of us :p )
anyway long story short, they were the best guild on the realm, but i hated it, i never raided with them because they were so obsessed with clearing bosses before anyone else only the VERY best went, it will be nice to enter a different atmostphere :)

Well we are on Defias Brotherhood server.

Come across and look up an officer (there is a list on the last page or two of current officers) or type

/join ocuk

and you can generally track someone down in the ocuk chat channel, though that is not as busy as it once was, its a relic of the pre-guild days.

Welcome in advance bud!

Back in TBC I was on Dragonmaw. On the no3 raiding guild on the server. If you go back that far you remember Elysium!

Realm is good. Busy and seems to be pretty well balanced faction wise. At least that's the impression I hav had so far.

Realm is good, and I can say that after coming from Kharazan (thanks to the last rubbish attempt at a ocuk guild), a PvP server where i levelled a mage from 1 - 80 over a couple of months and got ganked... twice. In fact I only saw alliance twice. No competition for resources though lol.

Anyway, this is far busier, prices are higher, competition more intense but at least you feel like youre on a populated server. Havent seen much of the silly chat but then i switch off trade ;) Been ganked once by an 85 but I think that was a mistake (frost mage who left his pet out which kept on attacking whilst he was hugging me.) Had plenty of alliance come who could have ganked me whilst were competing for resources, but didnt. Generally a more mature server - but this is wow and there will be 10 year olds somewhere.

The guild is pretty laid back, im usually on from 9ish onwards, and its more of a case of 'hi' and then get on with what you’re doing. I like to keep it simple, doing my thing, taking part in the alt night (one night a week where you level an alt for only 2 hours as part of a group with teamspeak ) which is new but promising. Plus taking advantage of guild crafters for items like bags and getting noob stuff from the bank. Fellow OCUKers are incredibly helpful.

One great thing is that being part of the guild gets you guild perks, like a boost in mount speed (I believe) and faster xp with more as the guild progresses through the ranks. When youre a casual like me, with kids to interrupt gameplay etc. that’s immensely useful. Basically its good fun, and isn’t that what this is meant to be?

before WOTLK i was just a leveller on that server :p i was in Local Talent, which was a merge between Zero Talent and something else.

Though Deadbeat might not agree :p

It's not me who disagrees, but Blizzard - seeing how much stuff drops for hunters in instance runs has to make you wonder if it's their way of apologising for making such a useless class :p

Hunter in WoW is fairly equivalent to hunter in LotRo, at least more than any other class is. The only real similarity is that they both use bows, and that's fairly irrelevant if you choose to load up with a rifle instead. You won't be able to teleport around the world, and you can tame all manner of beasties for whatever you deem necessary behind closed doors.

Edit: Just to clarify, I actually have a soft spot for hunters. I play a ret paladin by nature, and they're just so squishy and easy to kill that crossing paths with Alliance hunters always brings a smile to my face. Plus, they're not death knights.
