Only because I'll still be 74, if my current lack of ability to get in-game is anything to go by :mad:

Should have some time to get my shammy to 38 at the end of this weekend for the SM guild clear, but we'll see.

Also, I don't know how the hunter mastery is working out, but ret pally mastery is taking some serious flak. Apparently having a random proc for a free, max damage TV just isn't good enough - I can see where they're coming from even now, what with zealotry giving a good CS/TV rotation and AW cropping up a HoW every four GCDs. Once they've sorted that out and we're geared roughly equal, I'll take you on :p

Edit: Look at me with my acronyms, I sound like a WoW vet :p

Hunter in WoW is fairly equivalent to hunter in LotRo, at least more than any other class is. The only real similarity is that they both use bows, and that's fairly irrelevant if you choose to load up with a rifle instead. You won't be able to teleport around the world, and you can tame all manner of beasties for whatever you deem necessary behind closed doors.

Edit: Just to clarify, I actually have a soft spot for hunters. I play a ret paladin by nature, and they're just so squishy and easy to kill that crossing paths with Alliance hunters always brings a smile to my face. Plus, they're not death knights.

I've been working and entertaining my family. The lab's direly understaffed as it is (it's the NHS, after all) so I've been doing a few extra shifts to help out and make money, and my parents are over from Ireland for Christmas. I'm off to London for new year's, and to top it all off I've got a possible romance interest in the works that's taking all my cognitive prowess to balance showing interest with scaring her off. It's a busy season. After this week, I'll be back online :)

Idol should be dinging 80+ this weekend got a hard day deliveries all round N.Ireland today so hopefully there enough in the tank to get 78 tonight.

Really enjoying wow this time round :) Guild like our-self helps!!

I have a level 85 Troll Shaman currently on Ravenholdt (RP PVP server), If i transfer could i get a guild invite?

Ravenholdt isn't a bad server but unless your in a raiding guild the social side of it seems quite bad, I really don't have the time to spend all my nights raiding anymore like i used to so all i really do at the moment is PVP via random battlegrounds a few nights a week, I would like to at some point do arena and rated battlegrounds though.

Get yourself across mate. The social side is great and we have plenty of higher levels now who are doing dungeons and raiding soon too so you won't be bored!

As ive posted in main wow cata thread i keep forgetting about this one!

I've orderd wow & burning crusade £10.70p :P

thought that will keep me going for a few months untill i can save again to get the other 2x expantions

Atm untill i get the copy's im on a trial version so cant join a guild or talk to anyone :/ which is lonley indeed!

Charpal - Tauren paladin on Defias Brotherhood

feel free to IM (Whisper me) and whoever has just started etc we can team up :) or at least follow eachother

Q: Professions

Is it best to start as early as possible?

I'm not really one for making items etc i just want to collect / sell what i get which would be the best route to go?

Get a few collecting professions. I'm sure you also get xp from mining/herbing/skinning now (which although only a small amount is all free xp to what it used to be)

I personally when I started my old characters was to grab both mining and herbalism, and then switch one (or both) to a crafting profession when you get to your max level. If your a leather wearing class then leather working looks strong at the moment, so take 2 of the 3 (herb/mine/skin) that you think you might use the things that you collect on your way up to 85.

Failing that, sell what you collect and make your mind up later on in the game as to what professions, as these choices are sometimes determined by what you like doing best in the game, professions for arena and pvp for example may be different to pve raiding.

Either way, 2 collection professions when levelling are the way to go IMHO.

Taken Herbs / Mining up - i'm a paladin so using Mail armour atm & i don't know if its the right route but taken my talent points to Protection as i liked the sound of it. lvl 11 now
 
if i was to level as a protection paladin (i plan to be a tank) how hard would it be compared to ret? never leveled as a melee class, only a mage. I want to be a tank but is levelling as prot smart or a slow way of levelling ?
 
I levelled as prot first time round so not sure what it's like but I found prot a good levelling spec. What you lose in quick kills you have great survivabilty and can pull large groups and simply aoe them down while chickling to yourself.

Things may gave changed since my days though. Certainly ret is more viable, when I levelled ret was still the ugly illigitimate offspring of an incestuous relationship and was laughed at and spat upon by everyone.

oh ok, well i havent played in a year and a half and want to get used to tanking specs and rotations, so was wondering if i should level as prot, but if doing triple xp as i may, i feel it shouldnt matter too much!
