WoW funeral attenders slaughtered

Have the funeral (LOL) in a non contested area.

But imo theres places IRL to go for funerals and if you don't really the know the person IRL then it shouldn't really matter anyway.

Deserved everything they got.

Happened in EVE online aswell. A guy in the Stain Alliance died and a lot of people were paying their respects, when pirates from R.O.M.E and Burn Eden attacked them. Even though "funeral" was planned in advance. Classly

I know i shouldn't have laughed but... it was funny

Why didnt they ask a GM to attend, if blizzards GM's are even half decent the ban stick would have had plenty of targets. In MMO's unless you have solid proof, always assume other players are sexually frustrated 14 year olds on a irn-bru and cola bottle high.

Nothing new here.

The creator of Ultima Online (Richard Garriott) was killed in a beta test of the game while he played Lord British and giving a peaceful talk to players of the game ... or something like that, he was supposed to be indestructible but someone found a way to beat him.

I don't see the point of people arguing with each other here ... over what happened in WoW, morally it was wrong I guess, but the way the movie of the incident was made and the timing of the music made it funny. Black humour I suppose.

The person who died wont have their real funeral spoiled, this was a game taken to seriously by some IMHO.

For sure, some people are taking games to seriously though, when you look at some of the comments made in those WoW forums after the attack, about wishing death to the raiders fathers, they are all just as bad as each other.

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me one day to read that someone has actually sought out and either caused severe bodily harm to a game opponent or gone so far as to kill them ...

Lot of nutters out there.

Anyone got a link to the thread on the WoW forums where they're discussing this? (to save me hunting for it)

edit - don't all speak at once. I found the threads anyway.

you cant get much more sad than an online funeral for a girl who played games too much. I hope they were slaughtered by things like dwarfes in myth with a load of satchel charges :)

Gotta say it is pretty funny. The raiders must be good cos' they really opened up a can of whoop-ass. Quite why they had it in Winterspring is beyond me they could have had it in city which would have been far easier.

It makes me wanna restart aswell to be honest, but I've got a 360 now.

Heh, seems like the player that commited this act has built up quite a reputation for himself.

"For an unknown period of time Rainz morphed himself into an appearingly harmless chicken. In this form he roamed Britannia and tracked down and killed several gamemasters using invisible fireballs. The activity sent the GMs into a frenzy, who unsuccessfully sought the offender for several days, often blaming innocent bystanders. The cause of the GM deaths remained unknown until Rainz revealed his tactics a few months later."

ROFL, legendary.

Be good a a 1337 CS Clan could penetrate WOW and wipe some of these geeks out. Then maybe they get on with real life!

Yes, CS that's real life for you, never played by geeks I'm sure

It should probably be a clan with the ability to spell and form full sentences due to the use of text within the game ;)
