WP8.1

Not really, Xbox music pass is like spotify.

Nokia mix radio, you pick three bands you like and it plays a random mix of similar stuff, however it is free. Can also download the mix to play offline.

FTFY :p I still use it though, because when I charge my 520 while driving, it murders the radio reception for some reason

I used it all yesterday whilst murdering bits of wood with a router in the shed and found it brilliant. I think it's best as 'background' music possibly, but then there were still some really good songs. :)

It's great for finding new bands from bands that you like.

Im liking 8.1 but on my Lumia 1020, Im finding it buggy and I have had to reboot my phone more in the last 10 days than I have previously in the last 10 months.

Glance stopped responding, would lock up the phone, turn glance off and then it is better.
Screen stops responding to touch, nothing works, even the buttons, have to soft reset the phone
Random reboots, or the phone just randomly turns itself off.
Random Apps shut down, particularly Kindle, continually having to restart the app as it is not in my list of background apps (might be a setting I need to find)

So overall I like it, the improvements are worth having, but I cant wait for Nokia/Vodafone to do their bit and provide their updates as the developer preview on its own is not that stable for me.
Not going back though - cutting edge tech is supposed to hurt - right? :p

I found a way around on my 920 - may work for you:

Make sure you've got the settings for "Press and hold camera button to wake up the phone" under photos+cameras

When it next locks up, hold the camera button to go into camera (still probably locked) but now you can tap the windows button a couple of times and the touch screen is now responsive as normal.

Hope it works for you.

Can we now install wp7 apps?
As redspottedhanky downloaded and installed, but I sweat I couldn't download it in wp8 and it hasn't been updated in years.

I have had to soft reset the phone twice this morning and had just downloaded the Nokia Software updater to revert back when I saw your post, will give this a go and report back on how it goes. I had it set, just never thought to use it to turn on the phone

Is Mrs nightmare99 on Vodafone by any chance?

*****edit****

The camera button worked for half a day, then I had to soft reset, Im now doing a full device reset to factory defaults and if that doesn't work, Im back to WP8...

Did I read somewhere that the WP8.1 OS now allows Notifications/sounds to be suspended/muted between specified hours (summut I can do on my Nexus 4 with various apps)...

If this function does exist (I could be mistaken) does anyone out there know how I set it up!!!??

As said I can do it on my Nexus, but My Wifes Lumia 620 (which I've updated to 8.1) sits "bleeping" and "Booping" all night long!!

Quiet hours in settings is what you want.
I believe this is only useable with cortana which requires you to be in the US region in your settings. Its very useful and you can set it to allow certain people through, even an option to allow anyone through if they call 3 times in 2 minutes (I think thats right)

Indeed.

That's one of the reason I changed my region / language. For Cortana and Quiet time. Tested it using my missus phone, repeated phone more than the 2 times in 3min = phone ringing after 11pm for me. Can set 'favourite inner circle' allowed to phone in immediately too.

The phone clicks and alerts goes quiet between the time I set as well, along with specific days e.g. on Friday and Saturday, my quiet time is turned off.

Can also set it to automatically send replies that you're busy, great when you're in a meeting.

I've got mine set to US region, but the UK keyboard. The only difference is I get US news in the News app.

My News app is still UK, just chnage the app's language/region choice.

As for Cortana, you need the US language pack, not just chnage of region. Keyboard isn't an issue as I have US/UK and Chinese constantly swapping.

e: Location turned on isn't an issue for me, yes, it drains battery, but I'm hoping it'll get better when released in the wild. Managing a whole day... just about with my 'normal use'.

Anyone else having problems with Yahoo Mail on WP8.1??

Since updating to 8.1 on my wifes phone, it just sits there saying 'Syncing' and doesn't download any mail or Sync the Calendar!!

Looking under 'Email Accounts' it's greyed out so I can't check any problems!!

I've told the wife, if it persists till the weekend I'll downgrade her back to WP8
