WP8.1

There is a 625 in MM at the moment for £60,, or the 735 is supposed to be a great budget phone.

thanks I will need a spare phone tomorrow so I'll pop and have a look at some of the lower end sim frees rather than go with MM, 735 is prob a bit more than I want to spend on a spare (although I could give that to my wife and then have my 920 back as my spare)

my 620 is the same, started after the Glance update. Barely noticeable though

I'm really picky about this sort of thing. As soon as it appeared I was all "OMG MY EYES!!!":mad::mad:

Sounds like it is a 620 thing then. I wonder if the new Glance update doesn't account for lower resolution screens properly? Feels like a massive oversight on Nokia/Microsofts part...

Maybe I can just download a new lock screen app.... oh wait.

Thanks folks, grabbed a 530 from CPW. It's horrible compared to the 1520 but amazing value nevertheless! Will serve well as a backup and occasional travel phone. Cheers

Well managed to pick up a second-hand mint white Lumia Icon for $250 on Swappa so will see how I get on.

I'm still annoyed with Nokia about the Glance cluster*&^% as that was one of my favourite features but there we go. I'd considered the Droid Maxx, the Moto X and the LG G2 as other options but the camera on the Icon swung it for me plus I did like WP on my 928 even though the phone itself was a hardware dud. Verizon are a bag of *&^%s and haven't even released the Cyan update yet which is pathetic, will be signing up for the Dev Preview straight away I think!

Suspect will miss Google Now which knows my whole life by now and also the Google Music app just got a lot better with the Songza integration as I have All Access so that'll be a miss although CloudMusik should be ok.

Figure I'll give it a few months and I can probably get $200 or so for it if I keep it in good nick and will re-assess once Lollipop is out so I can see what out of last years phones end up with it. Wife has a Moto X (2013) which will obviously get it so I should be able to compare the two over time.

We're slowly getting all the goodies in WP

Tado has released an amazing app

And you can rent or buy the hardware which is compatible with most boilers. 12month minimum rental period. Wired is about ~70 for the year and wireless is ~£105, or outright £210 wired £290 wireless.

Yep, was waiting for the WP Tado app.....it is not quite as functional as the iOS or Android apps yet, but not bad for a first effort.
That said, I will be defecting back to Android again now, as got my Note Edge on Saturday.....930 has been very good, will be a shame to see it go :(

Yep, 8.10.14219.341 which is Denim. I need to find out what is new in that apart from Cortana ! I'm not so sure about this whole talking to your phone thing, but maybe I'll give it a try.

Cortana – The most personal digital assistant on the market will now be available in the UK and China as a Beta. India, Canada and Australia will have access to Cortana as a public Alpha. For US residents, Cortana now includes an improved natural language, car kit integration via Bluetooth for contacts, snooze reminders and calendar improvements.
•Live folders – If you prefer to keep your apps or games organised, you can now put them into folders. Simply press, hold and drag an app over another to create a new folder on the Start screen. Each folder can be renamed by tapping on the text field above the open folder.
•Apps Corner – Create a customised Start screen, where only specific apps or games are accessible. This could be particularly useful in the workplace if you’re issuing Windows Phones to employees.
•SMS merge and forwarding – Select individual text messages to either delete them out of a messaging thread, or to copy and past them into a new message in order to forward them.
•Snooze Times – It’s now possible to customise the snooze time within the Alarm app.
•Consumer VPN – Maintain privacy and security when using data while connected to public Wi-Fi hotspots or even with your home Wi-Fi.
•Mobile Web Site improvements in IE – Connect and browse even faster with improved downloading speeds on mobile websites.
•Store Live Tile (US only) – The Store Live Tile displays featured apps and games that are the most popular in the Store, or most relevant for you.

Unique Lumia experiences
•Lumia Camera – Replacing Nokia Camera, Lumia Camera is faster and more intuitive than before to make the best camera experience, even better.
•Speed – Pocket to capture speeds are superfast, and it only takes milliseconds going from shot to shot.
•Moment Capture – A long press of the camera button starts 4K-quality video recording at 24 FPS. With each frame at 8.3 megapixels, you can save individual frames as high quality still images.
•Rich Capture – Auto HDR and Dynamic Flash are now welcomed into the already-impressive feature set. Shoot first and adjust the camera settings later for that perfect photo.
•Improved image processing algorithms – Updated to give you clearer photos, even in lowlight.
•“Hey Cortana” Voice Activation – Gone are the days of pressing the microphone button to wake-up Cortana. Simply say “Hey Cortana” while the phone is idle and Cortana will activate. This is possible thanks to the SensorCore technology.
•Glance Screen – Compatible Lumia devices can now show more at a glance with Bing Weather, or Bing Health & Fitness data, in addition to time and date, notifications and application data.

Did Cyan allow you to make 'Live Folders' on the Start Screen?? Cos if not that's another thing Denim has!! As my 830 had Denim out of the box!, makes for a nice clean Start Screen, not cluttered with too much crap! :)

Otherwise, as I have no experience of Cyan/Black I have no idea of the changes! :)

**edit**

Oops, posted 1 minute after the change log! :D

Oh ... I've had Denim on my 920 for a week or so, didn't notice.

I did try the Bing Weather on the glance screen, but it needed my lock screen app removed, so I changed it back to as it was, like me news on the lock screen.
