I don't think it is the region that does it.

Make sure in the Language settings, English (United States) is added, and also top of the list.

You need to go into speech and download English (United States) as well.

I'm a dev, worked a lot with UIs, this is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful!!! iOS7 looks Fisher Price!

Only starting the install now as the store has only now just came back on for the rest of the world outside of the US. That was about 9 hours the worldwide store was down, which is frankly an utter disaster, MS need to do something about it as its not the first time the terrible store stability has gone off the rails.

Has anyone else just seen the vid showing how Cortana can still do I load of features when offline? This has to be the biggest feature surly in that domain and it wasn't even mentioned!

Got it all working yesturday enjoying it.

Got Cortana working the only drawback to getting it to work is sets your temps to oF not oC but a minor niggle nothing to write home about, unless someone knows a work around?

Overall it seems a nice improvement, now to see if I can get it to connect to our VPN end point

Small work around is just to ask for it in celcius.
Eg "whats the weather like in lancaster in Celsius "

Change region to US for Cortana, keep Regional Format to English (UK) seem to work for me.

At least in my Calender, I get it in degrees instead of F

How's everyone's battery?

I can't find the background app that I used to control some apps running in background e.g. Instagram. Are all apps running in background by default now?

Edit: Found it! It's now under Battery Sense... makes sense.
