But people don't see why they should spend £100 on a seasonic psu when they can get one for £40 even if it can kill every component simultaneously or just happens to be the most fire prone component :D
 
At first I was like 'wtf, I know nothing of any switch of this kind', but then someone pointed out that it must be an old and/or cheap PSU (probably both) and it all became clear.

To be honest its a small miracle I didn't burn out a couple of puters like this back in the day, I started fiddling with them at the age of like 7 with absolutely no parental supervision of any kind.

I would've thought if you engaged the 110V switch you wouldn't need to ask this, once when I did it the PSU almost deafened me when it popped and that switch tends to be "accidentally moved" proof.

Are you sure there's not just something come loose when you turned it?
