I assume (either rightly or wrongly) that it's the same risk as buying from any retailer that shifts a lot of subscriptions.

lol so many suspicous people, the guy sells 1000s of em and if it was dodgy it would be shut down or you would have all heard of warnings. I bought one from ebay for same price and its worked fine for months on end. Why would it not work? You get an email from MS confirming it lol

I used this site, code came through after 1/2 an hour, but was missing a digit on the last set of numbers, filled in the problem form and he resent within two hours. Got a mail through from MS saying thanks.

Erm, read my original posts. The problem comes when MS could poentially dispute it and you have no proof in the form of the original card.

Not once did I say this guy is "dodgy". I merely explained what happened in MY experience

Yes, keep the original code. This way you can verify with MS that you actually own the card and it's genuine. Same idea if someone else uses a key-gen and claims theirs is real, you can prove that yours is genuine and theirs is not.
