Doubt it, he's been operating long enough to have been shut down if it was a keygen. I'll eat my words if it happens but enough people have been using him for me not to worry.
edit: Having done more research I'm even more convinced it's legit. Adam, did you actually see the scan this other bloke presumably had?

Yeah I understand that. I just wonder if the other guy kicked up enough of a stink that if you couldn't prove it they'd favour him.
I would have just said I didn't have the card any more and that I had a receipt.

Let's look at this logically, he has in that picture, 10,000+ cards, let's say he's getting them (somehow) for £15 each, that's an investment of £150,000, do you seriously think someone is going to take that risk? Coupled with the fact that I don't even think wholesale on these cards is that low.
If they're stolen Microsoft will know which batches they are, and if it's a keygen it's only a matter of time before a card with that code on is used or printed.

So seeing as this guy has been operating for ages how is that the net hasn't filled up with negative stories about him then? Why hasn't he been shut down? It's not exactly like he's being subtle about what he's doing. Aside from this forum, the only negative rep has come from people who either don't check their spam folders properly or are just too sceptical and warn people away as a result. If you look at the forums on his site you can see he makes every effort to reassure people and resolve their problems.
If they're stolen and Microsoft know which batches they are, as you say, then they would just invalidate the keys. Why risk letting legit customers buy stolen keys only to ban them from live if they can't produce the card?
I'll still eat my words if this back fires on me, but so far there's lots of reason for optimism.

Also if he were using a keygen how come he occasionally makes typos on the codes? Surely it would just be a matter of copy and pasting?

So he just had £150k going spare and thought he'd buy a load of live subscription cards?
If he didn't does that automatically make what he's doing illegal? Who are we to guess what his financial situation is?

he does say he owns an insurance agency - so he's probably pretty well off
and he says that he had a bad experience buying a card one time.. so maybe he is doing it and make a small profit just so people can get value for money?

i got my live from him like 3/4 weeks ago and i have not had a problem with it
