X-Com 2 - Announced

I really enjoyed it but somehow I found it a little to short and there seemed to be a severe lack of depth in all the weapons and talents for some reason it just nagged me a little.

+1 for procedural map generation if they can do it.

I am going to hangy head in same now
I dont MOD pc games i find it overlay complicated and can never get them to work correctly
Fallout new vegas i am looking at you

I found this, it was all a bit basic and samey, I hope it's more In-depth.

It's literally just an executable you download and run, and it mods the whole thing up. When I played the original I loved it, but had a constant mild frustration at how simplified so much of it was. I've never seen a mod as professionally created and balanced as TLW, I've put hundreds of hours into it. Has a lot of options built into the in-game options to make it harder or easier too.

It will appear to crash the first time you run it, quit and run again and it's fine.

G'wan, you've got nothing to lose except your free time. And possibly your job and relationship. But it's worth it :D

My main beef with the 1st was that the RNG was all-powerful.

Good games can have an RNG leaning, but also allow the player to stack the odds in their favour.

X:EU did not. You could have a flawless plan, execute well, and still be 100% screwed by the RNG. The RNG was King, and the game made sure you knew that.

I bet the game still won't let you shoot at terrain, unleashing round after round of explosive ammo in the general vicinity of where you think that alien is... That is what the originals let you do, and that's how you beat the RNG :p That and bringing 20 soldiers for every alien :p

X:EU, on the other hand, would say, "No sir, you can only shoot directly at that one alien we are showing you, because he's the only one not hidden by that lamp post over there. Now sir, he is a little beyond touching distance, so we are reducing your chance to hit by 5000%. No, I'm sorry, you can't shoot in his general direction. And for your information sir, a 95% chance to hit means you'll most likely miss."

Getting closer to the release date now, happy with it being delayed if it's for a good reason. Besides, the first was pretty bug free & well polished - I assume they just want to repeat that.

I'm personally glad it's a PC exclusive, they can cater better to the mouse controls & ramp up the complexity due to the more mature audience.

I completed the original over 20 years ago, I cant remember lol only the dam mind control

But this version I think the way to win was to always keep your troops alive on easier missions because they gained so much experience on it made them elite on the harder ones and reduced the random factor ? Was that not the thing but I agree with the point, you couldnt just play it like minesweeper and deduce the aliens position and long range blow them up before they could move and react. They can definitely develop the gameplay
