X-Factor 2011

Glad the judges have finally cottoned onto the fact Misha B has a horrible attitude. She stands there and doesnt even look like she gives two ***** as to what the judges say to her. Everybody else really seems to take an interest into what they say (even if they dont care) She acts like shes above everybody.

Hope she gets brought down a peg or two.

Too think tens of thousands of people enter this contest, and this is what we are left with. I just don't get it.

sat through the whole thing tonight, kinda of entertaining to watch if not awkward and messy in places lol.

actually thought Sophie was the best act tbh, I like how she adds her own little note changes here and there.
Janet was good too, she sounds very familiar though. Graig, Kitty, mischa(?) stood out as good singers too but their performances all felt abit too theatrical/over-done or restricted.

Agree on Kitty - never ever thought I'd say this but she stood out for all the right reasons tonight.

Watching it now. My god it's awful.

All these bad performances getting praise aswell.

Bring back Cowell.

You really think Cowell and his cronies aren't behind the scenes in some shape or form, pushing all the buttons, adjusting all the hype and deciding on all the acts? I think you give the 'judges' too much praise, it's the brains behind the show that really run it. Those 4 haven't got a brain between them.

I think this year's standard is pretty low.
I was just watching xfactor usa and the performances are night and day.
The xfactor uk 2011 contestants are terrible in comparison:

xfactor usa, judges house example:

vs

xfactor uk (live show)

I understand that USA have a much larger population, however, out of 100s of 1000s of people who auditioned in the UK, is Frankie amongst the top acts who auditioned?

My feeling at present is if the usa and uk contestants were all mixed together right now, the UK contestants would all get knocked out before any USA contestant. The fat lady and Mischa B might stand a chance, but the rest are terrible.

Totally forgettable week for all the usual reasons X-Factor always become forgettable. You start to see just how artificial the whole thing is, and they stifle the natural "X-factor" the contestants show at the auditions under layers of lousy styling and manufactured performances.

I find myself hoping Janet gets knocked out soon so I can stop watching. She still has the only voice I find appealing even though tonight's song did nothing for me. Some voices are not meant for rock.

After fast forwarding through that mess I need to refresh my ears with a bit of this...

If that song is anything to go by, your taste in music is not commercial.

The xfactor show is looking for an artist who will be commercial and sell huge amounts of records. This means that they are looking for the next JLS or Alexandra Burke, who are the xfactor contestants who have sold the most records in recent times (note: I am ignoring the first single released by the xfactor winner, which seems to make No.1 no matter who sings it).

Joe McElderry was actually a great singer. He won his second national music competition recently. The problem is that he isn't commercially viable and can't sell huge numbers of records.

Out of all the contestants remaining, I think that The Risk are the act which could sell big numbers, but even that is pushing it. I watched them yesterday and none of them seem to exude the same personality/confidence which JLS showed when they were on XFactor.

Another point is that whoever wins the show, is prevented from releasing songs for about 10 months. Surely, this is killing their career? Why on Earth would you want to win the show, when coming 2nd can potentially get you more record sales?
