X-Factor 2011

Wasn't even as good as any of the others that are through during the auditions. Just because he is young he's there now.
 
I was watching the XFactor USA.
Question: do contestants or friends/families of contestants get anything extra if they cry?

The amount of crying in these talent shows is verging on ridiculous.

It amazes me that some people have actually made it through life, as far as they have.

And then of course there are the sob stories. Lets not forget: the main reason these people are on the talent shows is because they want to be famous/rich and crave the celebrity lifestyle. In a nutshell, that's what this show is about - greed, wealth and fame. Nothing more, nothing less.
 
That Amelia Lily chick, did not really pay attention but I reckon after that performance yesterday...well - Stand out performance of the lot of them.

She's only 16 so that's all I will say on the matter also :D

Right...so Goldie did make it through to the live finals.
This is clearly an opportunity of a lifetime, so it's pretty strange that she pulled out. Perhaps there is more to that story than we know.

This is the same Louis Walsh who put through Jedward and Wagner, so no he hasn't lost the plot. In fact Johnny and Goldie were the only two I was certain would get into the live shows.

Not a fan of Peter Kay (Samantha Brooks) so hope she's out pretty quick.

Although I love Janet's voice I can't help but think she's just Diana Vickers all over again and she'll eventually sound too samey. Don't think she will have the versatility.
 
None of the solo artists strike me as being exciting.
I'm most looking forward to the groups.

BTW. what the winner of last year's xfactor up to?
I think that Cher Lloyd is the only contestant from 2010's line up who has made a single (apart from the usual winner's song at Christmas).
 
Matt Cardle is due to release new material in October. He was whinging that Cher Lloyd and Wand Direction have beaten him to it and no-one's interested in him anymore. LMAO.
 
Aaaah yes. I forgot about One Direction.
I saw their video a week or so ago, for their new single.
It should be interesting to see how it does and where they go.

One thing I have noticed is that One Direction have been on TV screens quite a bit. I think they also did an advert for Nintendo. Matt Cardle on the other hand seems to have gone into hiding, almost.

EDIT: I just checked and One Direction also managed to get a No.1 for the debut single. The pressure is definitely going to be immense for Matt Cardle.

If you win you have to wait a year before you can actually do anything. So it's better off to not win. Matt Cardle is very likely to be on the first live show singing his new single.
