X-Factor 2011

Think its really horrible that somebody as talented as Amelia gets kicked out, yet the people that cant sing at all like nu vibe, frankie etc etc just stroll on through. Format just sucks.

I really, really dont like that Misha B either. She is always pulling really stupid faces no matter what she is doing.

Stopped watching. They are all pretty rubbish this year. Doesn't help matters that the public vote for "singers" like Matt Cardle, leaving out talented individuals, then never buy their albums!

What!? Sophie's performance was emphatically better than Amelia's last night.

I have no idea what some of you were hearing.

Although I agree with you, she was hardly show stopping. There wasn't that much between their two performances.

I personally preferred Amelia overall but as I said to the missus, the girls is the only category where there could be a surprise... and there was. All the rest were so predictably easy to call for the usual X Factor reasons.

I like this:
Couple of wobbly moments in there but should allow for nerves. Her voice is mesmerizing. Nice hints of Irish accent, some Dolores (Cranberries) O'Riordan sneaking out there.

Kitty is this year's Waissel (had to Google that since I coudn't remember her name!)

Some wrong decisions but it's all TV.

You know for sure some of the contestants who go early/don't win will do better than those who stay on/eventually win.

Craig's performance on Saturday was incredible.

He did do very well, I agree.

X-Factor is one of my guilty pleasures, because I know it's a pretty artificial and thoroughly managed reality show. But somehow it's hard to resist. :-) So I record & fast forward the shows listening for sparks of, well... I guess "X-Factor" covers it.

The world is full of good singers, but not many people who can reach through the screen and make you listen. Janet was the only one to grab me from the start as being "special", but Craig did a very good job last night. For me all the other performances had an "I've heard this all before a hundred times" quality.

Except for Kitty & Johnny, obviously. They're this year's distractions from the main event.

It'll be interesting to see how Craig & Janet do in the public voting, which can always be a bit unpredictable. Much though I'm a fan of Janet's rather unique voice (when it's not de-tuned by nerves) and personality, I'm not sure she's quite ready yet.

There's also a nagging, grumpy old man side of me which wonders whether there should be an age limit on the show to stop young people getting distracted from their education, which will be there long after the lip gloss of superficial stardom is wiped off by the wet-wipe of harsh reality.

I'm struggling to think of anyone who went early in previous series of X Factor that has done well. Can you?

I have similar opinions which I try to suppress so I can continue watching with the masses!. I wonder about the long lasting emotional scars some of these kids have after being put through hell for our viewing entertainment. Sure they know what's involved before they enter, but I'd bet the reality of having your dreams smashed in front of millions and a mic rammed into your face while trying to understand what's just happened to you must be pretty tough going.

I also think the immediate kick-out at Boot Camp and last night's shennigans are taking it all a little too far and smacks of 'how can we increase the shock factor'.

But then I remember it's all entertainment. And worst still, for people like me :o

My favourite: The Risk
My likes: Rhythmix and Craig
My dislikes: Janet and Misha
My HATES: Frankie, Nu Vibe and Kitty

Because none have! Generally the winner won't have the most success but if you don't get down to the last 3-4 then you will have no success at all. Diana Vickers with her 4th placed finish is probably the nearest you have to an early exit achieving success.
