X-Factor 2011

I think that's the problem, people aren't watching it so they're trying anything to "boost" it's appeal, bulling stories/bad boys/lost band members/sick judges they're throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it.

HEADRAT

If the voting results from last year were accurate and the trend continues, it really doesn't matter who, what, how or when as most of the acts only get a few % of the votes right through anyway with the main favourites being a significantly clear % ahead.

Thus those that end up in the bottom for the first 6-8 weeks are all much of a muchness and probably only 1-3% off the rest of the bottom/mid tiers. If they haven’t got a sizable % votes by now then they stand no chance.

I just think its another sign of the apocalypse when the best thing a young girl can think will ever happen to her is getting her name tattoed on that waste of spaces arse.

If it were my daughter whose name was tattoed on Frankie' backside, because he had sex with her, I would feel that I have failed as a parent.

The crazy thing is, if he could sing, I WOULD be rooting for him as a crazy bad boy talent and good on him.
The fact is he cant sing, at all and has no redeeming features as a human being either.

His talent is that he is a bad boy and can get himself in the newspapers. This is great for the show, as it publicises the XFactor in ways that the other contestants are unable to do.

X-Factor watched predominately by women.

Women like the bad boy image of Frankie.

Women vote for Frankie.

Frankie stays in competition.

Frankie is still a talentless rent boy at the end of the day.

This sentence sums it up nicely! Particularly the last part. He has been marketed well though - his rock status is already on par with Gillespie - or so the producers would like to think!.

I'm going to try NOT to watch xf on Saturday.

Packet of milk choc digestives, a cup of tea and ITV-1. I can see it now.

He was in the bottom 2 last week, his support is pretty weak.

The day I actually start to watch this program with the view to it being "entertaining", I will know that life is no longer worth living.

Yes, but he won't win.

Of course not. But he could make it to the final.
Remember, as long as the judges keep praising and telling the audience that he is the best thing since sliced bread, they have a chance of pushing him through.

Her certainly won't win though. In the past, the winner comes from the act which scores the highest percentage in the first few weeks. In reality, the winner has already been decided by the voters.

Is that actual fact?

Surely not if viewers continue voting for someone else if their favourite is booted off, thus reducing the proportionate amount of votes the absolute favourite receives, even surpassing them and they themselves becoming overall favourite and subsequent winner.

Just been to the Australian X-Factor web site and became mesmorised with Natalie Bassingthwaighte and ended up on Google images :)

Up until 2 weeks ago I thought it was Natalie Imbruglia (!!) because she was on the first 2 series and then my daughter pointed out it wasn't her :)

Is that actual fact?

Yep.

Somebody posted the results/percentages of votes for last year and that's how it panned out. The eventual winner basically finished up in the top two, every week. This trend continued throughout the show.

Exactly the same happened with Joe Mcelderry.

I'm not sure about previous years, because I've never seen the voting results.

Watching X-Factor USA and what a dirty liar Simon Cowell is.
Can you remember that Gamu! who sang Walking On Sunshine and did a different version of the chorus? well last night a young girl did exactly the same version and the judges piled into her mentor Simon because he'd ruined a classic song.
He then told them he was being 'Inventive'
