X-Factor 2011

Wow, just watched this for the first time in years and the general quality was really poor.

I felt a little sorry for Frankie simply because he looked like he had finally stopped believing in his own hype.

Hmm, if you haven't 'watched it for years' how do you know about Frankie's hype?
Just bloody admit you like being entertained, nobody here will think you are a big girl.

I think we all need to bear in mind (including me!) how contrived the X-Factor is. It's much more apparent this year, I think.

Poor little Frankie was told exactly how to act and what to say. Bad boy image is failing so head for the sympathy vote instead.

His career started and ended on that stage - but it's been rock and roll for the lad!

Not bad for 10 mins stage time.

he could read the newspapers  or even just look at a magazine cover once in a while, you never know. i never watch the x factor, saw it today but knew what was going on because its splattered all over the papers you big girl (i think you are one:))

But if he has no interest in X-Factor then all he would see is a picture and have no clue what is going on.
He's a big girl like the rest of us but doesn't want to admit it.
Next he'll be saying 'My girlfriend makes me watch it'.

Well my wife made me watch X-Factor last night....

....just kidding :p

I actually didn't think it was as bad as many here are making out, or that it's one of the worst years. I think there are some very good acts.

Marcus is an all round excellent performer, although there is something about him that makes me dislike him, can't put my finger on it though.... smarmy?
Craig, excellent singer, impressed me last night again.
Misha B, repeat what I said about Marcus, but less smarmy and more cocky.
Kitty, warming to her, she is less nervous now that she is settled. But she fascinates me in some strange way every performance. A bit flat last night though.
Janet, I desperately want to love Janet but she's had two bad weeks now, I'm scared for her this week, she might go. I admit her voice makes me melt a bit :o
Little Mix, obviously got no guidance when choosing a new name (wtf were they thinking). Have been decent, last night weren't great but not as bad as some have said.
The Risk, have potential, but another boy band, really? I'd rather be trapped in a room with Johnny.

I really really don't like:
Frankie, not alone there.
Johnny, whoever told him he can sing needs shooting.

Bottom two:
Frankie
Janet (sadly) :(

There are some very talented people on the show.
Matt Cardel.
Leona Lewis.
Alexandra Burke.
JLS.

To name but a few.

Didn't all these people get famous doing cover songs? can they write their own songs?

Matt Cardel, is never, and has never been talented.

Personally I'm a Metal fan myself but before X-Factor, Cardle did have a bit of talent and this is the reason I didn't mind him winning.
He wasn't a bedroom star or 2 minute karaoke star but somebody who had trod the boards.
Check his old band out Seven Summers

You don't need to be able to write songs to be classified as talented. It helps, though.

Some of the best singers in the World do not write their own songs, but are talented at singing.

JLS are talented performers (ie. they can sing/dance and put on a show...the are talented in this area).
