X-Factor 2011

Don't they release voting numbers / %'s at the end of the series or during the last show?

Some one with enough time on their hands could compare voting against performance, judges comments, media coverage and also the promo / pre-performance tape and what that involves.

They do release the % at the end and I'm sure that every one showed that the winner was chosen on the first week of the live show.
Nobody has ever been in the bottom 2 and won no matter how much crying they do.
of course there's always a first time.

Well obviously voters are influenced but we'll never know how much.
Of course. But it's the influence that counts so much.

We sometimes have a bit of a chuckle when it just so happens producers find footage of finalists being interviewed while queuing for the auditions amongst thousands of others. Usually seen in their exit VT or some other random clip.

This is the kind of thing I'm referring to. Right from the very beginning, it appears the X-Factor producers know who they want in their show and how far they should progress.

It is not unreasonable to assume this. Keeping the show interesting in ways which generate the largest revenues and attract the largest audience possible is paramount.

I would like to add that despite my various skepticisms, I still enjoy the show - and I want Little Mix to win.

For shame.

Bloody stupid woman.
I've been watching the final of Australian X-Factor for about 2 hours and just as the 2nd finalist is singing the final song Mrs Dimple walks in and says that Reece won the Australian X-Factor :(

Anyway, what's interesting is that Reece was in the bottom two and statistics say that anybody who has been there never wins.

Does anyone reading this actually vote? I really would like Little Mix to win. But not quite enough that I'm motivated to pick up the phone and spend 35p or whatever it is. I don't know what would push me that little bit more to do so.

I can't comprehend anyone spending their own money to vote on this (or any TV show for that matter, unless it was for charity)

Why does anyone pay with their own cash to vote?
If it were a free vote, I could maybe understand it. but to pay for the privilege? Makes no sense to me (unless you had a vested interest or actually knew the contestant)

I don't know anyone who has phoned in to vote...or maybe the people I've asked are telling fibs :D

Even if it were free, I wouldn't bother voting.

You have to remember though, that there are a lot of teenagers and women who take this show very seriously and would happily spend their own money to vote.
