X-Factor 2011

Clearly Mischa B has a low fanbase. I think from here on in, it would be reasonable to expect her to be in the bottom 2, all the way.

Janet's big mistake was not crying. If she had cried last night after the bad performance, it might've saved her.

Yeah let's put someone through whose in the bottom 2 twice, she'll definitely sell records! ...

This x1000. (Except its the 3rd time :D)

They kicked Kitty off for being in the bottom two too often, yet they are really pushing hard for Misha to stay in when she has 0 fanbase.

Screams of Katie Weasel to me. Nobody wants her in the competition, yet she is saved week after week.

I was checking out what Matt Cardle is upto.
He is about to release his 2nd (real) single.
This following link also has his video:

At least with Leon Jackson and McEldrew - they went on to do musicals/theatre. Somehow, I can't see Cardle going down this route. Being a recording artist is what he wants and if this 2nd single fails to make a big impact, he will go the way of Steve Brookstein (ie. singing in empty cafes).

She is aiming for the sympathy vote.

There is a sob story associated with virtually every contestant. Her sob story happens to be about her weight.

For whatever reason, sob stories (and crying) actually helps the contestant win more votes.

I despise the sob stories with a passion. If I was on the show, I guess my sob story would be that I am not 6' tall and that people should vote for me, simply because I am not 6' tall. IMO its ridiculous that her chubbiness should be used to gain votes...but that's XFactor for you.

I can breathe a sigh of relief now that Janet's out -- both for her and myself. I rarely watch beyond the auditions, and Janet was always a bit of a square peg in a round hole. She should have quit rather than allowing anyone (especially herself!) make her sing Mmmbop.

I knew it was all over as soon as I heard that was the choice, and I was pleased to see that even Janet's own body rebelled at the prospect of performing that drivel. Good recovery, and a fairly stirring second song, but too little, too late. Plus the song tonight went nowhere. Started well and went... nowhere. That was disappointing. Maybe it's a metaphor for her career?

Who knows. She's very young, and anything could happen. I'd quite like her to disappear for a few years then resurface as the lead singer in a quirky, but interesting band. I appreciate that many will be glad if she just disappears for good. :-)

I can now retire from my longest ever run of interest in the X-Factor. Good luck to whoever wins, but I don't see any of the remaining crop breaking the X-Factor pop muzak curse... except maybe Little Mix. Not because of any kind of stand-out talent, but because there's a gap in the girl band market at the moment and they can be moulded to fit it easily enough.

Except the chubby one, obviously.

I bumped into the chubby one from little mix in tescos, she thinks she's "it", i nearly abused her but managed to hold on. I was going to check her basket and say "don't cry about it when you're buying that!".

To quite some degree she is "it". She's been a star on a Saturday night prime time TV show for what, 2 months now? - which, to boot is thanks to a large number of people voting for her and her band.

Let her relish in what might be 15 minutes of fame, though I think she may well get a career out of this.

I must admit that the faces of the rest of Little Mix are forgetable. The only one whose face I remember is the chubby one.

If I saw any of the other 3, I wouldn't be able to recognise them as Little Mix members. The chubby one has a very unusual/distinctive face.
