Took the words from my mouth. . . ;)

Well if G80 is coming end of Sept, beginning of Oct as ppl say, then thats 4+ months before DX10, so i think its safe to say 4+ months, bound to be another card released in that time as they are coming all the time, speedbumped ones etc... :)

Loadsamoney and Melchy,

Thanks guys but im not stupid honest lol If you look at the benchies they they benched a 1800XT,1900XT,1900GT and a 7900GT against each other. Have ammended the original post make it clearer :D

Cheers,

Oh yeah they do have the x1900 XT in there as well, so im the stupid one. :D

Theres my point, look at Battlefield 2 in 1280x1024 with AA/AF on x1800 XT over 121fps, the x1900 XT about 12 more, but come on 121fps, why can you not play at that, how on earth is that S L O W, a slideshow. you seriously have to spend the extra £50 to get 12 frames more, you really notice that extra 12 frames more, 121fps a slide show, fire a gun go on a 2x week cruise, arrive back just in time to see the bullet come out, yet at 12 frames more you aint got time to fart as he would have rattled of about 500 bullets in a split second.

I didnt look that far into the review either to be honest :o

I've now had a proper look and to be fair though most of the places that the X1800 beats the X1900 is at 1024 x 768. At 1280 x 1024 its usually in the X1900's favour even if it is only by 2 - 3 fps.

At the current prices of the X1900XT-X im thinking of upgrading from my X1800XT to one, which i know is just a bit daft. I like shiney things and havent really bought anything for the computer for a while :D So far i've managed to resist though.

Yes it is faster, but if the x1800 XT is still giving very playable framerates at 1280x1024, then why the need to spend the extra £50, if the x1800 is getting over 100fps with AA/AF like in Bf2, then the extra 12 frames the x1900 gives do not matter one jot, and in the other games theres about 3-5 fps differance at 1280x1024 as you say. :)

I can see what your saying throughout the whole thread but the X1800XT in 6months isnt going to be worth £55 less than an X1900XT.

Take Quake 4 for instance (bit-tech.net review).

GECube Radeon X1800XT - 1600 x 1200 - 2x AA - 4x AF - High quality, Maximum special effects.

Powercolour Radeon X1900XT - 1600 x 1200 - 2x AA - 4x AF - High quality, Maximum special effects.

X1800XT; MIN FPS: 16, AVG FPS: 46.9
X1900XT; MIN FPS: 17, AVG FPS: 48.8.

The X1800XT will sell in 6months, say for £110 on the bay. I highly doubt the X1900XT will sell for £165 on the bay.
