X32I Redemption (Cryengine 2) *Space Simulator*

Well we're all looking at it and the consensus seems to be that it looks great! I just hope you guys don't lose motivation and the mod die out, it looks to have a lot of potential. Keep up the good work. ;)

Only way I'll lose motivation is if people stop taking interest in the project :P.

My inner attention-whore needs feeding too. :D

Need the trailer music please. I know it's a custom traack and it doesn't exist on the net but I really really need it. It's such an amazing piece.

If you say no, I will spray window cleaner in my eye.

Hi everybody. Unfortunately due to my AW being busted for the last 6 weeks Im a bit out of the loop with the mod right now; but there's a new September update live over on our website at:
www.x32i.org

Our new forums are also working now, they're not entirely bug free, but they are working.

The update contains the first decent outside glimpse of the updated player craft, and one of our other ship designs.

For anyone doubting this mod will happen (please note this is ALL Work In Progress):

Enjoy!

September Update:

Welcome to the September update for X32I - Redemption, as always managing a team is a interesting experience however a rewarding one at the same time.

This month we have to show you a few assets as well as a concept art for a Terran Chance Fighter called the Scythe produced by JC a highly talented artist.

Thunderbird WIP:

Original Design: Richard Jefferies
Latest Design: TheMightySpud
Optimisation + Interior Cockpit: Bernhard Raml

The Thunderbird is a Prototype ship created by the United Earth Alliance greatests minds, the ship is the ship the player will fly throughout the game. The ship is module based and can be customised by it's pilots with new parts to further upgrade it's potential as a frontline ship.

Wasp WIP:

Model Created by Ben Rymill:

The wasp is a nimble ship which relies on it's high speeds to act as a scout ship, equiped with light weaponary the wasp is not a ship one should fear if they are alone, however in large numbers the wasp can be a formiddable foe, especially if your ship lacks in speed.

Terran Chance Scythe Concept Art:

Art by: JC

Wasp + Thunderbird Ingame: WIP

This is a very early shot, currently we have new asteroids being made as I type this, the ones in the shot are crysis rocks used as placeholders for the real models, also the ships are using a placeholder texture to test uv maps.

Note:

So that's it for this month, we hope you like what you see and if you want to talk to us directly the best palce to post is on the official forums located at http://www.x32i.org/index.php?option=com_agora&Itemid=59

So thanks for looking and we hope you continue to follow this MOD. :)

Well the october update is out over on www.x32i.org
Not a huge amount in this one, but it does give you a better look at the Thunderbird; the ship you're going to be flying for the majority of the game (although still WIP)

Also a look at the work in progress of the Hornet fighter, the bigger brother to the Wasp Scout class ship featured recently.

Hope you guys out there aren't loosing interest in the project!

PS. Also very recently up on the site (click on Teaser Comparison on the left hand 'Latest News' menu) is a teaser comparison, basically showing you how the entire level of detail is slowly being upgraded as work continues on the mod, with the updated trailer already looking a lot more detailed than the initial early teaser release.

Hi guys, it's been a while coming but here's the December Update (the November one kinda rolled together...whoops!)

Apologise for the lack of real early release trailer here, we'd planned to release it this month but the sound fx were just not quite where we wanted, althought the music is done, and last I checked vocals were being recorded.

December Update:

Welcome to the December Update. We know you have been waiting for this one for quite some time, however the wait was hopefully worth it.
Here will be taking a look at some images from the Trailer for the project. As well as some 3D renders of ships, and some concept art created by Phil Booth.

Trailer News:

Sadly due to unforeseen event's the trailer has been delayed until the next update.
Sadly things like this are expected to happen from time to time, as anyone who develops games can attest to.

It will be worth the wait, and it will be in the next update, guaranteed.

High Resolution Trailer Screenshots:

Here is some high resolution screenshots taken from in the editor without any of the image loss, that is lost in video encoding.

The Mosquito 3D Renders:

kevinspaceyship.jpg

Created by Phil Booth, this ship is one of the heavier ships within the Terran Chance armada, and is capable of matching many of the UEA ships.
The Mosquito is a multi-role ship that can be used for anti-fighter purposes. It can also be fitted with torpedo's, and be used to attack larger ships, such as frigates/cruisers.

Hanger Bay Concept Art:

hangar_concept_update_ver.jpg

This is what the interior of the hanger bay will look like, showing you the daily activities of the crew, and the ships being maintained, and prepped for flight.

Pilot Suit Concept Art:

x32i%20suit%20concept_update_ver.jpg

Space is a harsh environment, and therefor the pilots of fighters need a great amount of protection from the hostile environment.

Recruitment:

We are looking for more team members to fill the gaps, we are low on certain area's which is causing the production to lose steam very fast. If you want to join more details can be found HERE.

Notes:

We know the trailer was a anticipated feature of this months update, and I can only stress how sorry I am that it never made it in.

However as soon as the trailer is ready, is when the next update will be released. It will also be amongst other updates, as well a behind the scenes look at how the trailer was made too.

January Update

After much development on all fronts, it's with great pleasure that we can finally bring you the 1st trailer for X32i.

VIDEO

The teasers we released back in July and August were made to do exactly that, tease. This trailer aims to present some of the preceding storyline for the game, as well as showing off some gameplay from a cinematic perspective and of course, all the hard work that has gone into developing the numerous assets required for creating this trailer.
Having now been through this process and seeing how things will turn out once all the assets come together, we've learnt a lot from this process and it will help us greatly in our development of this project.

Please go watch this in HQ not minified!

If you like what we've done, and like where this mod is going - please vote for us in the Mod Of The Year Awards at ModDB.

By the next update, we expect to have the newly rewritten, massively expanded backstory uploaded so you guys can see just how far we plan to take this :D
