For those having issues when commanding those fleets, do not forget there is a Pause button, which allows you to set commands, target modules etc at on your own leisure. Is the "Pause" key on your keyboard, the one you never pressed :D

Am gonna have a look at this station repair drone stuff in a minute. But this game is rather peculiar with its quirky problems.

I mean my silicon production ceased at my giant refinery. Where are the miners? For some strange reason they're now drifting about at the edge of the sector, moving 2 m/s 'searching for resources'. Nowhere near asteroid field. Re-initiate orders, same thing.

This is through the mining command bound to the station. So I switch them back to sector auto mine. Not ideal but at least they're mining again.

Except, about an hour later, production has once again halted. Go to map and 3 of the miners have just malfunctioned, all floating about a 'mine resources' symbol thingy, but it's right next to the station. Logical overview shows these 3 have reserved wares under the buy order (I like this), but there's no timer, it's just --:--.

Thought replacing the pilot would reset it all but nah, had to sell the ships in the end which was a bit annoying. Traders work flawlessly though.

And lol, ok, how do I put guns on my defence platform? I chose high-preset! :)

That would have been useful to know a lot earlier. To use it now would feel like cheating :p

I got the station drone thing working eventually, well sort of.

So it seems, and thus maybe due to the locations of my stations, but simply setting a drone amount in logical overview and providing the station funds will never do anything, even though it's supposed to.

I looked again at the station that I did have drones and noticed it showed the drone components and smart chips in the logical overview.

So I tried again to transfer wares to the station the drone components and smart chips from s freighter I send out to manually go out and buy the parts and boom, the station instantly made the drones.

I'm not 100% sure if the station needs a container, I'm going to test this tomorrow.

Also, is it possible to transfer them from a capital ship to the station, however 1 of either the station or ship must have at least 1 cargo drone, I was trying it from a ship with 10 repair drones, the ship must have 1 cargo drone so you can only transfer 9 at a time. I think with the latter also your station probably won't need any storage at all (more efficient for small defence structures) but again I haven't tested that yet.

Well getting the Zyarth Patriarchy to -9 was a pain in the backside. I managed to score a +2 to get to -13 when I took out a small Xenon ship shooting one of their stations but after that no matter how many more Xenons I killed it didn’t change the standing.

When I’d camp a station trying to kill criminals I never managed to see them in time in the sea of red Zyarth ships. So I kind of cheated. Through the save file xml I managed to change a few settings to get them to show blue and after killing a criminal they’d give me a + on their standing but go red again. Rinse and repeat and I got docking rights.

I was getting so frustrated I was thinking of quitting the game. I don’t like cheating but **** it, I’m too old to spend hours upon hours playing a game just to get frustrated and stop enjoying it.

I also took on an I which kicked my carriers arse. I wasn’t even denying it’s shield.

Does your station has manager? Have you run out of solid/liquid storage space?

If I had known this a week ago when I was trying to fly my own ship in battle and control several fleets on several fronts all at the same time I would have less grey hair now!

I'm really struggling with fleet controls at the moment. for example, I have a little fleet of 3 M class ships patrolling a safe sector to stop minor xenon ships coming through... No matter the role; Defence, Attack or Interception, the fleet will maybe attack one xenon ship but then they won't engage anyone else... if I manually give the leader a command then the other 2 won't engage and just follow the lead around even if attacked...

What is the best method to get a fleet to engage ships consecutively within the patrol range as a unit?

Are you clicking the leader of a wing and right clicking orders or use of the behaviours tab and u know what you do for automining well u can do other things with that which is fleet stuff like patrol or defence i think.

Nope but that could explain why my fleet got wiped out...

No its not that. I have 2 Xenon stations, it looks like they are in part contruction, but past the stage of just being a construction site. I have pounded them down to 0% hull, but then they don't blow up, and remain a red station.

I wonder if there is a way to actually kill them, googling seems to suggest that you have to let the Xenon build them first and then go back and destroy it, thats really rubbish if so, wondering if anyone has a work around.

Advantage of plonking a defence platform right on a gate, set your ships to defend the station, they'll effectively camp the gate.
