James, mine runs happiest at 500/600 - what is the rest of your pc like? I get 5900 at 510/600.

Just checked that link - you have less ram that me, but a faster CPU. Could my ECC ram be slowing me down? I have some GeIL stuff on order, hopefully that will improve things.

ive got a 3200+ venice running at 2.28ghz, it's not exceptionallly fast but from what ive seen i seem to be a good 200 points or more above people with similar specs.

IUT could be the ram, but im only running 255fsb on a 5:4 divider (ram at around 220) 1T.

Maybe its my ATi chipset motherboard, but review haven't put them infront of nf4's buy any significant margin. I honestly dont know lol

Hi.
My VPU Core went to 551 with ATI tool. But then, I got all these funny shapes and the PC crashed.
So, how much less than this should I clock it back?

Didn't set the clocks to the maximum.
I've decided just to stick with a woosey 520/540 = x850xt speeds.

Scored 6005 in 3dMark05.

That'll do me!
 
MrW first off, from the info in the picture your core probably wont unlock :( , secondly with an overclock like that i really really would run ATI tool for an hour to be certain... a couple of minutes isnt enogh time to heat it up and you really dont want it to go pop half way through a game...

but as for unlocking it, im making another ISO, it should be up in the sticky later if you want to try it :)

Thanks locutus12. I just ran ati tool for 45 minutes with no errors. It's very stable at 620/615 so far. As for the locking, is that because it's hard locked (pipes physically cut and I have no hope), or just no bios has been modified for it?
 
well as far as i can gather from the picture its hard locked, but as i say, you can try and see if your lucky... but if it goes wrong youl need to install a PCI card and reflash

That's it so far. ATI tool kept showing artifacts at less than the last set of tests you see when I tested with ATI tool at first, and for some reason later on, it tested fine and ran all benchmarks ok!?!?!?!?

I am however well chuffed with this beast!!!

1gb Geil value (2x512mb, cas 2.5)
