I'm sticking with Makoto. I'm still working on defence and AA, once that's in place my offence will be fine. Need to work on the timing of IAT too.
I actually don't like to play as Adon, since I know nothing about him.
To be effective with makoto you need to learn to kara-karakusa and also hayate cancel off of normals to stay in range. These two things are hard as nails to get down consistently but also essential.. essential like honda's jab xx hands. I would say it's best to play a different character until you can be comfortable to do the more advanced things like I've described, then go back to makoto again.
All you need to know about adon is he gets up faster and has a DP, most of your damage in a round could easily just come from DPing on wakeup alone.
Saying all that, makoto's better in AE and adon's.. slightly worse than their respective super counterparts imo.
