hopefully they will, but I think the likes of UBISOFT and EA are really going to push hard on this and I think they will make it hard for Sony if they don't play ball.
This is the thing. All it would take is a single statement from Activision. "Due to concerns with security on the Playstation 4, we will not be publishing games for that platform".
But anyone who thinks there is any chance of the happening who be a deluded fool.
Especially since like, you know, the PC and Wii and stuff.
How many fingers am I showing them ONE.
Would they really? The publishers now have access to the tech, and the leverage to kill 2nd hand sales. They have already done it on PC with steam.
What is the big deal with the one needing to connect to the internet all the time... Are all of our boxes not connected to the internet 24/7 anyway.
What a bunch of crybabies.

people are hammering MS about the xbox one but there has been more to see so far from MS than Sony has shown of PS4. My guess is they will be very very similar in performance and gfx. I await E3 with baited breath.
Already done what? The pc is completely open and games were cracked and pirated in seconds, cd keys were a needed evil as the pirates were killing any chance of developers supporting the platform. The pc never had a second hand market, you either bought a game or "downloaded" it.
The consoles are not open and that is not possible. Sony should leave it up to the pubs how they want to do drm and the consumers can decide on a game by game basis if a game is worth it. That will be enough.

Not possible? The Wii Xbox and PS3 have all been hacked and can be made to run pirated games, it just took longer. In fact when was the last console that wasn't able to run pirated games?
What percentage of the UK can't connect to the internet at least once a day?Because not everywhere has reliable Internet. Rural places particularly.
Sony can just clean up in the "console war" very very easily if they do the opposite of what Microsoft are doing here.
Hopefully they do. It would make a lot of business sense to listen to what people want and just give it to them.

I get it, if you have crap internet or live in the ******** of beyond then you're maybe not going to like this move by MS, but it's not their fault you're behind the curve.
