**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Ok a lot of us were on the fence after the PS4 reveal and said we'd wait till the Xbox reveal to make up our minds.

Was just wondering which way those of you are leaning now after the reveal? or is it still too early to call?

Personally i'm probably going to pre-order / order the PS4 given that i'm not really interested in the major features of the Xbox One.

Edit: Xbox wont work without Kinect connected

Pay to lend your game to a mate..

Then pay again to play that game online with 'Xbox Gold'

Seriously who is gonna buy this?

Americans.

CoD fans.

FIFA Ultimate Team addicts.

Clueless parents/families looking for a home entertainment centre.

Halo fans.

People who like paying for things that should be free (online gaming, free to air TV services (4od, iplayer, itvplayer etc.).

Whereas the Xbox One is a low spec PC media box that makes you pay fees after fees after fees for an inferior to PC gaming experience, yay !!

The new Xbox One summarized,

Pay for your game, pay again to play your game online, pay again to install your game again on another account. If you sell your game the lucky buyer will pay to play the game again..

Microsoft wins.

This thing will die a horrible death, faster than the Dreamcast haha :D;):p:)

Has made the PS4 and Wii U look so much more attractive..
On face value both both the Xbox One and PS4 look to be able to churn out 1920x1080 res games at min of 60fps which is hardly a "low spec PC".

You buy a game and pay for it and it sounds like you can play it anywhere, you just have to log in with your account, in particular with the reference for save games etc to follow you by being saved in the cloud.

You will be able to trade and sell games although there could be a "fee" involved, but if that gets absorbed into the price of the game second hand (i.e. a second hand game you buy for £10 includes a £2 resale fee that goes to the publishers) then it's not a big deal.

How's the whole selling on Steam games second hand thing working these days? I've not looked recently tbh.

Wow, the xbox one is crippled already. All that TV integration aint gonna work for British TV services. So theres ONE aspect of it useless. Its all USA orientated :(

Some of the things people are moaning about (and not just here :p) is ridiculous. Not sure what people were expecting really...

Looking forward to E3 - Looking forward to seeing some gameplay :) And I'm also interested in how accurate and fast Kinect is!

Hahaha Americans :D

Looks like an utter ripoff for familys, imagine a family of four having to pay four fees to play one game.. Madness. Even IGN said that it was terrible..

I was never going to be particularly interested in a new Xbox anyway as I'm not really interested in any of the Xbox exclusives, whereas I am interested in the PS4 exclusives.

I haven't pre-ordered a PS4 though as I'm not sure if I want to get one upon release or not. I still find the Xbox One pretty interesting though.

Looks like a standard kettle plug socket to me, for power.

EDit; Nope, clearer pictures shows a USB port.

Got a link? The powers a standard figure-8 on the back. Not got a good pic of the left profile.

I see, USB it is! Weird to have 2xUSB3.0 on the back and this in an awkward place? Plus the cutout suggest some kind of accessory/extra device maybe?

Apparently the PS4's GPU is equivalent of a 7850, a mid-tier GPU. The Xbox One is equivalent of a 7790. The PS4 will have better graphics, makes sense why Microsoft were so hush on the graphic details.

Peter Molyneux reckons some of the computing could be offloaded to Microsoft's Azure cloud computers. So that could mean some of the games of the future could have a banner saying "Internet connection required".

ive not seen all the details as ive just got in and just started checking - one thing i noticed on eurogamer they are going to charge a fee to play pre-owned games - is that true - is that single payer or multiplayer. I take it that it must be single player as the multiplayer pass etc already exists

Think of it as having a hand port towards the front like on a PC case, kinda like the 360, no faffing about at the back.

Also, was in work, I know its a bit early but any links to the presentation?

I don't see the problem with always connected honestly. Who doesn't have their own PC permanently attached to the internet? At any one time there are probably 5-10 devices all using the internet in my house not necessarily with anyone using them (smartphones, tablets, server etc.)

This whole account that has tied games to it. I have four people here if my two sons have their own account and they want to play skylanders I need to effectively buy it twice..... Hmmmmm.
