**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Apparently the PS4's GPU is equivalent of a 7850, a mid-tier GPU. The Xbox One is equivalent of a 7790. The PS4 will have better graphics, makes sense why Microsoft were so hush on the graphic details.

They're pretty much the same thing. However it's not really sensible to compare such GPUs with how they are in a PC because they work very differently when they're set up in a console configuration than they would do so as a PC GPU.

Okay long post coming up...

Is anyone else genuinely worried about Microsoft? I feel everything they are touching at the minute is turning to rubbish. Windows Phone is way behind iOS and Android and has been for some time. Windows 8 has had a very poor reception, the Surface tablet is selling poorly and to top it off they seem to be making the XBOX brand worse year by year.

It seems to me they just don't know what company they are trying to be, Apple and Google are pushing them under the water at a very fast rate at the minute and I feel this could be a Nokia situation where they are a huge house hold brand then over a number of years just start to disappear.

I was in Currys last week having a look at some Windows 8 notebooks and I couldn't get over how poorly designed the OS was, now I know I like my Apple stuff but I'm not anti Microsoft by any means. I thought Windows 7 was a great OS. But 8, it was shocking. Even just browsing through the settings menu felt unnatural.

They need to scrap this horrible Metro UI and start to re organise there devisions ASAP. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ballmer get the boot soon.

Oh, and the Xbox One looks like a 1980's VHS player.

No, quite the opposite. The proverbial '**** has hit the fan' with Microsoft and their share price is at a 5 year high. Now they've had their slip with the beginning death of the pc market, but they still make TONNES of money investors are more confident than ever.

No It's up on the back of an article in today's Nikkei (a Japanese newspaper) concerning rumours that they are about to spin off the entertainment division. It has been up all day.

This is probably due to the Blu-ray going into xbox because even if Sony loose....they win!

No its not, what is it with people not having a clue about shares, their been rumours building that Sony are going to sell off their Entertainment division, has absolutely nothing to do with this.

To me the console looks like a PS2. Please don't crucify me. Also the controller looks uncomfortable. It looks to cramped to me, could have heat issues like the original 360 did.

Just finished watching the presentation.

As a PlayStation user I cant help but admit that I found Microsoft's presentation a whole lot better than Sony's presentation (I dont say this because they MS showed the Console).

The games they showed (game play or not) was pretty impressive. The only downside was the amount of time spent on the X-One being an entertainment hub... I personally dont care about that stuff... I just want games... Anyways.

I score the presentation 8/10

I'm not really worried about them, what goes around comes around. If I was an investor Ballmer would have to go.

They are in serious decline. The phone market was never theirs, the PC market is collapsing, the server market they've already lost and the home console market is a loss leader for them - one which Samsung or Apple will take if they continue this home entertainment hub madness.

They have one core product left, Office and Google are eating into that.

I don't like the disk vagina, I like a pc style dvd tray like the original xbox

Much better looking, I think these slot loaders look cheap.
