**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Looks rubbish overall. It cemented my decision to buy a PS4 this gen. My xbox 360 is just gathering dust at the moment since most xbox games come out on PC (and are cheaper and look better). The only good exclusive it had this gen was Gears of War 1 IMO. I bought Halo 3 and never really enjoyed it. Had some good fun with Left 4 Dead 1+2 on it splitscreen, and Mass Effect 1+2 but those games were out on PC too. The PS3 had more interesting exclusives this gen.

MS seems far too focused on Kinect and making it a set-top box rather than a gaming machine.

It's pretty clear now that the only people defending this are the hardcore xbox/microsoft fans. Just looking around the internet on various forums and sites such as reddit etc. The reaction across the board is extremely negative

I really like what the system can do and as long Microsoft can implement everything in the UK I think it will do well.

What I don't like is I already have expensive PC's, a HiFi and media centre that can stream around the house and I have enough monthly bills coming in without whatever Microsoft and any UK partners are planning to charge for Xbox live and media use.

I was mainly interested in what the Xbox could offer in games and was hoping (optimistically maybe) for some 4k gaming action, but it seems the Xbox One is less gaming console and more media centre based and might fall short of matching the PS4 in games.

Agree.

I've heard nothing on games. It's all about M$ Services. Could care less about there services. I steam also in every room in my house. So want a games console.

Very unhappy......:(

considering you say "it looks rubbish" and youre getting PS4 when you havent even seen it yet says a lot about your fanboyism lol

Not sure about that, I'll be getting both on launch (and I said that before either had been announced). Preference will be 3rd Party games on the Xbox though because of the controller.

You guys do realise that this was the console launch announcement right? E3 is where we will see the games line-ups + in-game footage.

This event wasn't designed to show the world the games, so how can you be disappointed about something that wasn't meant to happen?

There seems to be a lot of confused people on this thread.

far too sensible a post

Sony Corporation (SNE) -NYSE
$22.93 UP $1.96 (9%)

Shows what people who put their money where their mouth is think

It's coincidental timing. The stock price jump has been caused by the (unconfirmed) news that Sony will make the decision today (it's Wednesday in Japan now) to spin off its film and music arms.

Don't use Twitter for a news source. People like to gossip. Good gossip, true or not, spreads fast.

Leave this thread right now, and take your objectivity with you.

A launch event is about setting the tone of a product. The playstation launch event was unashamedly game driven. The xbox launch event was unashamedly home media hub driven.
