**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I don't get the hate.

I think it looks sleek, slim, tidy and modern.
Bluray is a big thumbs up.
3 OS for multi apps/tasking
360 evolved into something great, Xbox1 i have high hopes for too.

Are you lot all paid by M$ ? It was an absolute shocker of a conference and I'm still laughing.

It looks like a old VCR. I want a games console not a multimedia player.

I'm very disappointed. Can only hope PS4 does better.

A lot of comments about how the console looks. Well natuarlly you would want a console to look good but that's something that would never affect whether I bought a console or not or dictate which console I bought.

It's not really like a phone where you are handling it all the time. It will just sit under the TV gathering dust, even if you use it everyday.

The 360 evolved into a convoluted mess. The dashboard is a hash of disjointed menus and adverts with almost every feature requiring a subscription fee to use.

Looks like I'll be going back to Sony for my console fix, it'll be the first time since the days of the original Playstation...

Seems like they want to make it into more of a HTPC than a gaming console, no actual game footage from any game just random trailers and cut scenes total anti climax imo.

I like it - looks retro.

But yea as you say...who ever bought a console because it looked good.

Not wanting to start a fanboy debate, but for me so far I prefer the PS4 presentation. I thought the whole system for integrating different forms of social media when playing games was a pretty neat idea, among other things. I am not dismissing Microsoft's Xbox One just yet though, because I am curious to see what else they are doing, but so far I am edging a bit to Sony.

Yes. I didn't hear about many games, but heard lot of Xbox services and that xbox kinect. Who cares? Kinect is a waste of time.

You guys do realise that this was the console launch announcement right? E3 is where we will see the games line-ups + in-game footage.

This event wasn't designed to show the world the games, so how can you be disappointed about something that wasn't meant to happen?

There seems to be a lot of confused people on this thread.

I really like what the system can do and as long Microsoft can implement everything in the UK I think it will do well.

What I don't like is I already have expensive PC's, a HiFi and media centre that can stream around the house and I have enough monthly bills coming in without whatever Microsoft and any UK partners are planning to charge for Xbox live and media use.

I was mainly interested in what the Xbox could offer in games and was hoping (optimistically maybe) for some 4k gaming action, but it seems the Xbox One is less gaming console and more media centre based and might fall short of matching the PS4 in games.
