**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

This is my official stance on the XBOne:

DRM = Not really bothered
Used Games = Not really bothered. Never bought a 2nd hand game
Always On = Yes, I have an always on connection
24 hour check = See above. Should I get rid of our Sky box or Virgin TV, as these do the same
Price = Yes, I can afford it
Controller = Until PS sort the most pathetic controller in history, my money is still on the XBOne

Nothing, so far, as made me desperately want a PS4 over an XBOne, chances are I'll end having one of each anyway, but all of the 8 year olds, up to the 16 years olds, who have an xBox 360 now, will buy the new xBox when it comes out, because, all of their friends will still be playing it.....

I am the same as this, I am looking forward to x1 games more than what I seen on ps4
I know x1 is about 80 quid more expensive.
I will mainly be using it for games but we have the added tv features as a bonus, I don't see this as a bad thing to be honest. Hopefully it will play blu ray 3d and I can get rid on my blu ray player

No Internet? Get an Xbox 360, says Microsoft
If you haven’t got access to Internet so the Xbox One can phone home once a day – because you’re in the military, or live in one of the millions of cities worldwide where Internet just isn’t that great – you can just buy an Xbox 360, one Microsoft executive has said.

Speaking to GameTrailers, Xbox’s Don Mattrick dropped a quote which I would almost describe as “tasty flamebait”.

“We have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called Xbox 360,” he said.

“If you have zero access to the Internet, that is an offline device.”

Do you have Internet access?

That and the fact they arent going to release to a good half of Asia for a year without any explanation - its like a lesson in how not to do PR

Do you have Internet access?

Obviously, now are you going to say so whats the matter? as i said its the principle, also what happens one day your internet goes down ? . That accompanied with the headphones not being compatible, the block on sharing/pre owned games, having to connect it to the internet every 24hours, having a inferior spec to the PS4, being £80 more expensive, having a stupid kinnect starting at you at all times even when the console is off, it has a region lock and the PS4 doesnt just to name a few the PS4 is a gaming device this is a living room media device.

I be getting both on launch but I still cant get past the PS4 controller. It looks like a 3rd party Logitech PC controller.

Honestly I think the new controller looks an improvement. The thicker grips being a nice improvement. But then swapping between the 360 and ds3 was never a big issue for me. Only problem I had with either pad was the dpad on the 360 pad. Which looks to have been vastly improved on the xboxONE

X1 here also. With any luck the two camps can now part ways and stick to there own thread and maybe some constructive discussion about the merits of each system and there respective software can replace some of the hate and insults......I live in hope ;)

My xbox 360 is constabtly plugged into my kodem via xable. my modem is always on. I really couldnt give a crap if my console needs to connect once every 24hours that really doesnt bothr me at all.

What bothers me is the pre owned games payment. Unless of course its 99p per gane or something minor. anything above £4 would be a joke

I want to stick with xbox but PS4 is looking good. both PS4 and the One look good on paper the strongest thing to sway me is the damn control.

PS controls are made for tiny little boy hands, where as the xbox one is beast.

sad but true, I don't care about the price/DRM/online/BS/I got this you got that lets fight over a bit of metal debate/little nancy boys getting hurt over what company screws you the hardest.

I just want a machine that is going to last, and creates enjoyment for myself and the family.

Not getting either on launch anyway so will be much easier to pick what one is better for me after both have been out for 6+ months.

You mean the PS4 fans can go in their own thread and talk about the system and games they're looking forward to, rather than coming in here and constantly attacking the Xbox One? I think there's a better chance of me winning the lottery this weekend tbh.

For what it's worth, after speaking to the wife, it looks like it'll be an Xbox One launch purchase for me. She loves watching games like Dead Rising, and she loves the idea of some of the media features the Xbox One has got, so she's happy for us to buy it (rather than having to fund it all myself). So, probably Xbox One, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and perhaps another game at launch. Hopefully somewhere will do a good bundle deal so I can save a bit of cash over buying them all seperately.

Yeah, if it's cheap it won't be a problem. Like you said, even a 99p fee per game could add up to hundreds of thousands of pounds, if not more, for the pubs/devs per game, yet Joe Bloggs consumer wouldn't really give a toss about paying that to unlock a game, it's pocket change.

I really hope Dead Rising 3 is as good as it looked.
I just hope that despite the more realistic tone and feel of the gameplay demo, the stupid stuff from the first two are there. I'm quite happy for it to be more serious in places (storywise perhaps), but running around with a Mega Man head on while wearing a dress and high heels and slaughtering zombies with a lawnmower is just part of what makes the first two games so much fun. They don't take themselves seriously. I hope that doesn't change.

The new PS pad is bigger with the sticks further apart. The triggers have been made into triggers too, instead of the odd feeling slippery garbage they were.
