Not really.

We're an hour away from the nearest big town (roughly 20k people) and have a population of 6.5k. I've got cable and internet runs fine at 10d/1.5u. Most small towns in Ontario are the same.

75% of Canada's population live within 100m of the US border.
 
well I think I am gonna pre order this today, loved the games shown at E3, love killer instinct. titan fall looked great, forza 5 looks amazing and new halo. shame about DRM and I think there gonna change there stance on 24 hour check to

Yeah these people are morons but you can imagine a DDOS on launch day isnt going to paint the device in a good light is for the first few days if it doesnt work. A few headlines and the non day 1 buyers might think again. Good luck to MS though as they do pioneer technology - some are a hit and some not ut you got to be in it to win it

can see them trying to do that but not day one as the infrastucte wont be there to see what there hitting as the servers may only go live 1 or 2 days befor the x1 launch. there just idiots tho, why ruin other peoples fun because they don't like something,if you don't like something then don't use it end of. to be honest its a bit like this post, so many people hating the x1, if u hate the idea so much why post? go put positive stuff in ps4 thread. or is that just wishful thinking? lol

because I have had 4 xbox's, kids have accounts and friends, xbox gold etc etc and I would have got the Xbone if it was the straight upgrade without all the rules and requirements. MS might get the message if they see enough backlash against it and maybe change some of this before launch. If not then I'll do the consumer thing and vote with my wallet

Yup, I personally respect the fact they're trying something different. Admittedly I think they could have done it better, but considering some of their other innovations look excellent (Snap, the ability to share your entire game library with up to 10 friends and family, Twitch TV integration), they were always going to get something wrong. Shame for them that it's the things most gamers seem to care most strongly about, as beyond that, the feature list I've seen so far on both consoles is far stronger on the Xbox One.

the DRM - my kids buy and sell their games so they can have the latest ones, er that kinnect thing I dont want, the online requirements, the price.

Nice lineup of games though - but games come and go

I just think MS has lost its way lately - take Win8 for example. Its just the attitude they have to its customers that irritates me

Just found out that the Kinect can also detect your heart rate, facial features (i.e. smiling, angry) and if your sweating. Along with speech and motion.

And most of you (I know some of you have your man corners/caves) will have this device turned on by default in your front room, facing your families while your not using it....

The German Data Protection Minister called the Kinect "A twisted nightmare"

Thats just it, unless you mandatory turn it off, it'll be always on waiting for you to "say something".

The average family will have it turned on by default because most parents and kids either wont know or care about said device.

I mean surely they should offer a Kinect free box set?
 
I just thought of a funny situation that might annoy kids, if you are being chased by your parents for something (say dinner) and they say 'Switch that Xbox off and have your dinner', will that mean it actually goes off right there and then?

Damn some parents better be trolling their kids with that - magic words :D

I so a gif the other day with exactly that, made me LOL and is true, maybe it will only pick up the players voice that turned it on etc? who knows would be funny though.
