So, will it be possible to play games on your xbox one when xbox live is down? You know... Like it is at the moment.
Shame the family sharing and ability to play without a disc have been removed, those were 2 very good features.
Just sounds like spite to me, there's no reason why they couldn't keep this as well as remove the DRM

If this pastebin is legit (grain of salt etc), then the share with friends/family feature was going to be pretty restrictive anyway:

Agree. We'll never know what MS would've allowed but I can't see them or Publishers wanting to give games away for free. I think the people that backed the DRM direction are naive to think they only had the consumers best interests at heart. It all boils down to £££This does make sense, didn't think MS would allow people to share full game with 10 people.

Terrible terrible PR from MS in a complete cluster bomb. Never clear on a single thing from day one, complete arrogance and a middle finger to those who did not like what they heard.
Giantbombcast said something today that rings so true, Sony are in a battle to win people over and are fighting against MS, MS don't even see it as a battle and aren't competing at all and have basically said screw you all until this point. Some of the ideas are/were great like using the 'cloud' to allow AI be taken away from the console but this stuff has not been relayed well at all. A 24hr check in was a terrible idea and not needed. Sony played it smart, they have a lot of the new releases on PSN close if not on the day of release and they know this is the way the things are going so why force other methods of DRM. Allow people to do what they do now and slowly people are moving over to all digital in which this won't even matter one bit.
To play without the disc in would require DRM though, or we could all just share 1 disk
Same with the sharing they would need to know you owned those games.

Like I said, take it with a grain of salt as it's just an anonymous pastebin and for whatever it's worth Arthur Gies of Polygon is saying it's not true. But I do agree that it's hard to believe Microsoft would allow sharing entire games without it being more restrictive than they had talked about so far.
Smart move that would be (bet they won't do it).If they want to sell DL to the general public, then they need to either sell games at £40 retail and £30 DL or they should release a game a week earlier as a DL (wouldn't bother me, but I know lots of people go to lengths to have half a chance of getting a game a day early)
To be honest I think it will take a bit more than a price cut to win a lot of people back, MS burned a lot of bridges with the DRM issues, perhaps if they announced they were undercutting PS4 on price or they set a lower price point for games, but the majority of 360 gamers I know have lost complete faith in MS most are jumping ship to PS4 a few others are waiting for Steambox or building a PC.The next step will be a price cut. Either a price cut of the existing sku or a version without Kinect. I think £399 with and £329 without and they are straight back in the running.
