When the switch happens it will change for the equivalent, or greater value in your local currency. You won't lose out at all.
 
there's an online petition to bring back DRM to the xbox one.. WTF.. lol

Why would they even consider it, tho?

Would you buy a 7850 with 12GB vRAM? Nope.

Would you buy 12GB system RAM for a gaming PC with an i3 2100? Er, nope.

So what possible use would there be for 12 GB in these consoles? They just aren't powerful enough to warrant it, either as graphics memory or system memory.

Plenty of PC gamers still on 4GB RAM, tho 8GB might be gaining ground now.

A machine doesn't need to be powerful to use ram. If the ram is guaranteed to be there developers will use it.
 
More space to store textures. I believe it was Naughty Dog that said if PS3 had 1gb of ram they could have pushed it considerably further.

A console having 8gb of ram is a huge leap forward.
 
Now lads - I aint gunna start any hash browns but IMO the X1 just sounds like a better 360 but MORE entertainment - ideally TV shows. etc -

Got a 360 comin again but I;d rather build a HTPC (or test the PS3/4)

Then again x1 might be death metal on a school bus going up s steep hill and the ard DB says "gotta get nee revs up'

he;s ard ........ till we knew he was bang on da Ice LOLLYs n hittin them magazines

Honestly I mostly agree, it had many great advantages for someone that doesn't really trade in games and that suits me fine. Having a seamless digital library is far more convenient than any physical media, I can't even remember the last time I used a disc in my PC.

Exactly this! And I loved the idea of family/friend sharing games! But people had to ruin in because they dont like change. They all want the same console just more powerful. Kinect, because everyone will have one, will be great!

It's hardly because people don't like change! it was more that people don't like restrictions being forced on them! & in all fairness to you it seems that the majority of people thought that the MS policies were just a money/power grab for the second hand market which essentially led to poor pre-order figures which in turn led to the 180 by MS.
As for Kinect it's telling that of all the AAA games they showed at E3 none used Kinect, Ryse solider of Rome was originally a Kinect game but they ditched it & went with a normal if QTE heavy control scheme, which to me begs the question why? if Kinect is being pushed so hard where are the games that use it?

I've read this three times and I can't figure out whether it's a post saying how great the Xbox One is looking, or a post slating it.

I did however make out something along the lines of the Xbox One merely being a more powerful 360, but with more features. I guess that's true. The PS4 is also just a more powerful PS3, but with more features. Did you have a point to make?

If their idea was as good as some believe then there is no reason that those features couldn't still work for digital media!!!

Unfortunately most people with a half a brain knew if was BS, and called them out on it.....
