**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Totally agree, look a bit further down the line and what will we be seeing in 3/4 years time?

I will get both consoles at some point, but I just have to be cautious over the XB1, I take a hefty dose of salt with the posts above, I just feel it's not worth taking the plunge at launch, no matter how much I want to play DR3.

You just get the idea that Sony rushed MS with the reveal back in Feb and they have been playing catchup ever since.

why do people get so hung up on 1080p, I dont care what you say nobody can tell the difference between 900p and 1080p on your average tv.

Plus if a launch title (forza) is managing 1080p why wouldnt any other games be able to manage it? Look at what the 360 is achieving now compared to what it was at launch. Once developers get used to the system games will look better and become more efficient allowing for higher definition.

who would have thought gta 5 was possible on the 360 when it first launched?

I've not been in this thread for a while so apologies for asking, but what's changed and why are people considering cancelling? I've got a Forza bundle on pre order from Amazon, so just wondering if i should be taking more notice!

Is it just about the resolution, or is there more to it now?

Ta! :)

Lol Davey did you actually say something along those lines?
He didn't, but everybody attacked me in here for posting CBOAT rumours before

1080p should be the minimum expected this gen, just because it's the standard and most people will a HDTV these days will be 1080p capable.

There will be a small image quality difference between Native 1080p and 900p upscaled and people will certainly notice, but obviously how much will depend on the person, TV size and how close they sit to it.

You're right that obviously the games will improve as time goes by and developers are able to extract more performance, but I think most people are expecting them to sacrifice resolution to try and keep as close as possible to PS4 in other graphical areas. This won't change over time as PS4 games will also be improving.

I want both consoles, but currently the PS4 looks the most appealing and is cheaper. It has more exclusive IPs that I will want to play.

For not too much more than the cost of the Xbox One, I can get the PS4 and a Vita, and I already have a PS+ membership to carry over from my PS3. Nothing other than Forza 5 currently interests me, and as I thought F4 was disappointing, the free edition of Drive Club will probably satisfy my driving needs at launch.

I'm not too hung up on the technical specs, but with the fact that the PS4 is more powerful, it can only mean (even) better things down the line. The DS4 is also looking like it will (surprisingly) be the better controller this time around.

Of course I didn't. I said I don't put much stock in rumours, including from Cboat, an alleged "insider" who got half of his last predictions wrong. I'm not saying he's wrong all the time, I'm not saying his rumours (or anyone's) can't be posted here. I just personally don't pay much attention to rumours.

I'm also a little sick of Xenon trying to suggest I said that Cboat talk is not allowed when he plainly knows I didn't say that. I have never and will never discourage discussion on these forums, as long as they stay within the rules.

I wasn't suggesting that, I was joking around at the fact that lots of people (not just you) jumped all over me before for posting the CBOAT rumours.

I thought the ':p' made it clear I wasn't serious.

It's not the first time you've said it though, so it's just wearing a little thin.

Which is why I just do the occasional check on this thread.

Will still be happy with the xbone despite the "lack" of power. It's sort of like comparing the v6s and v8s f-type, only with a smaller gap. You'd have either and have the same amount of fun.

Same here. I've said it before, but if all I cared about was power then I'd simply stick to PC gaming as neither the PS4 or the Xbox One can compete with a top end PC (hell, I reckon my laptop would give either console a good run). As it is, I just want to play great games, so I'll have the Xbox One first to play the games on that I want, then I'll get the PS4 early next year to play games like InFamous and The Order, and from that point on I'll buy the games I want on whatever format they will be best on.

I'm the same. I expect to get both consoles, I've chosen Xbox One first as I like the games that are coming out on it at launch more than PS4.

I'll pick up a PS4 around this time next year and might even have a backlog of games due to PS+ (maybe ;))

Video of the Xbox One friends list\app and the following feature.

I really quite like the idea of Followers. I have too many people on my friends list at the moment, people I don't play with any more. I could keep my Friend list as people I actually know and want to game with, and then follow (and be followed by) other people I may want to play with but don't know so well. Looks like a decent feature to me.

What the following feature will enable people to do is follow popular youtuber's or even celebrities. So instead of them having an inbox full of hundreds of friend requests you just get to follow them an see what they're up to. Pretty cool I think

Yup, I'm sure I'll follow a few people I know I probably wouldn't be able to be friends with, but maybe I could try and jump in a game with them and talk to them/shoot them/whatever.
