**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I was pretty excited about this when it was first revealed but I've decided to put off purchasing it for a year. I just can't afford to spend that much money on a console at the moment.

Plus I only use my 360 for Lovefilm and playing GTA V; I do most of my gaming on the PC.

I don't think there is much chance of me cancelling, I know if I cancel then I'll just want one once they are released anyway. The recently released videos of the friends list and the one around multiplayer are starting to build a little anticipation. They also seem to be starting to ramp up the emails too and the whole release is starting to build.

More Dead Rising 3 footage, this is interesting because it also shows them snapping a video whilst playing.

That is a neat feature that will certainly be useful for guides for hard to do stuff!

Next gen alright.

The one thing that worries me about snap mode is that it actually covers that portion of the screen. So if you playing a game with a radar or map on that side of the screen you won't be able to see it, unless developers anticipate this and make it so it nudges it more into the middle

I thought the game would be sort of squished up a bit? But that has its flaws too, forcing a changing aspect ratio-mid game must be a pain to develop for.

I will personally never buy a console at launch after being burned when buying an N64 and Nintendo dropping the price soon after!

Besides MS seem to have a trend of constantly improving the innards of the console (going by how many revisions of the Xbox 360 they were) so I think its best to wait anyway..

That's very next gen, I like that feature a lot. Should be really helpful for people who find themselves stuck on games, to simply call up an app that has a video guide for you to watch. Very cool indeed.

I know, the more I think about what 'next gen' means to me, it's not so much graphics (as they are pretty damn good to be fair) it's about things like AI/physics and features like this that give a better 'experience' and one that is next generation.

I'm starting to think about cancelling my pre-order as well, as I could do with saving some money for a bit. I know there is that desire to have the new thing, but I've still got plenty of 360 games I could be playing. I'm certainly sure I could hold out until Xmas when I have more free time.

What even were the advantages of the Day One console again?
I get a free copy of Fifa, but I'm not fussed about that as I don't play those games, other than that, its just that it says 'Day One' on the controller?

What do you mean 'just' says Day One on the controller? :p But seriously the only real reason most people get anything on day one is because its something new in a category they're interested in
