**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Also, it would be a blame game, people will either WANT to blame who made the game...but mostly people just want to hate on MS.

"Broussard is perhaps best known for his 12+ year development with many hurdles of Duke Nukem Forever"

So we'll assume he knows **** all about game development then :p

I thought Forever was really good only thing that spoiled it was the loading times. Then again though I'd been following that game through most of my adult life lol.

Well that doesn't tell us anything new that I can see.

yeah nothing new there..

I'm only just reading about this 720p thing, really disappointing if true.. I only got to play a couple of xbox games at Eurogamer, I know Dead Rising disappointed me in the graphics department and looked fairly low res so I guess that could also be running at 720p which would explain it?

I could almost overlook Ghosts as being down to lazy developers cashing in on the franchise or an x-gen title but with an exclusive like Titanfall also being 720P that isn't really acceptable and not what's expected from a next gen.

It will be interesting to see what other titles like "Destiny" run at but if it turns out the PS4 can run at a higher res etc even at this stage, especially on exclusives, I can't see why anyone would choose the Xbone if only buying one console.

Quite surprised how many people seem to think that playing a game at 720p is in some way impossible or so offensive to their eyes that they'd rather play a 1080p pile of rubbish instead. We all moan that developers focus on graphics over gameplay and then you justify them doing it by acting as if 1080p is all that matters.

I'm perfectly comfortable with the fact that my PS4 will be more powerful than my XB1 but that doesn't mean I know the PS4 will have the better games or that it'll translate into a significantly better gaming experience even on multi-platform titles where the PS4 might look a bit prettier. The only time it'll impact my buying choice is if one or other actually performs worse in terms of fps, stuttering, etc.

I think it's more the feeling that you're being short changed. Many of the E3 presentations and the youtube promo vids are displaying PC rendered 1080p games. So it's disappointing when they look like they come to fruition in a 720p version. Good graphics does not preclude good gameplay, does it!

I agree it might be misleading (although pretty much every developer has been guilty of that at some point) and all things being equal I would prefer a nice-looking game over an ugly one.

I guess it's just the "OMG no 1080p I'm cancelling my preorder" stuff that some are spouting just makes me laugh, if you (not meaning you personally) must have the best graphics then console gaming is not the way to go in any case. Even current PC GPU tech wipes the floor with the next-gen consoles so in 2-3 years time when 4k gaming is pretty much standard for PCs I really don't think 720 vs 1080 will matter.
