I had pre-ordered one through the rainforest place, but not one of the specific game versions as I couldn't when I ordered it. Had an email this morning to confirm I will get a day one version with Forza. Emailed back to see if I could get Fifa instead and they said not.
As an aside. I don't play a lot of games on my current xbox as it is mainly for the kids, but loved Skyrim, and recently finished Tomb Raider (which again I loved). Is there are release day games from this kind of genre. By that I mean games which involve some combat, but are not dominated by shooting after shooting, e.g involve some set pieces and some puzzles. I tried the latest Splinter Cell and although good, didn't grab me. I don't fancy COD or BF4.

Sounds like you need Assassins Creed 4 to meet that criteria.
Dead Rising 3 maybe? thats one of the major launch titles for the X1. Obviously you've got the combat with the zombies that isn't too taxing. Mainly objective based
I reckon im in the same boat as Davey, im buying the Xbone One at launch purely for the launch titles of Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3. I know Sony have great developers like Naughty Dog, but for me TLoU wasnt as good as I expected it to be, so i'd rather base my first next gen purchase on what I know just now, not what I presume will happen in 6-12mths.
I know within 6-12mths i'll likely get a PS4 so i'd rather wait that time till something that interests me is on the PS4.
If it turns out that the PS4 runs all the multi-plat games better, then i'll switch my main gaming console to PS4 and keep Xbox One for exclusives.
I do like a lot of the Xbox One features though

Nope or at least I'm not expecting too, why would I?
Then that makes the launch day's better value considering they won't drop in price before xmas. Even if you didn't get the game you wanted you could probably trade/sell it for £30-40.
I'm not judging your decision. Just the reason above.

I imagine there will be plenty of Fifa download codes available at launch, so you easily trade your Forza code for a Fifa code if you wanted to.
I can see plenty of people taking to ebay or the like and swapping forza and fifa codes

You see what I'm saying though. I'm not sure on Chris' situation so he may be waiting for another reason, but if you are still going to buy one before 2014 then in a rare turn of events it looks financially beneficial to buy a day one XO.
