**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

PS3 was harder to develop for than the 360 and that never made any gains. Just look at the last of us, blurry mess.

Different architectures, different strengths and weaknesses, CELL was always more powerful than what the 360 had, just much harder to program for.

XB1 and PS4 are totally different in that they have the same architecture, just the PS4 has a higher model of that architecture.

Possibly, it really depends what is left under the hood. For all we know, developers could be currently using 70% of the PS4 power, but only 50% of the Xbox One power due to more complicated hardware. The PS4 would still be more powerful at 100%, but the gap would be reduced when the Xbox is at 100%

I'm only speculating here, but even the great and powerful Cboat has gone on record as saying the gap between the 2 consoles will reduce in the future as developers get to grips with the Xbox hardware.

This really isnt true for this generation though. The 360 and the PS3 were very different beasts from PCs, especially the PS3. This generation we are essentially sitting on 2 PCs. Add to that the fact that both consoles are actually running very similar hardware and it's hard to imagine anything changes.

It seems obvious to me that the PS4 will keep the same gap for the entire generation, not a massive gap but a gap none the less. It still doesnt really matter though, they are both so close nobody is going to care. Xbox fans are going to enjoy their Xbox. PS4 fans will be happy with what Sony have done.

Xbox one vs PS4 is the age old battle of the systems - personally I think both offer a lot and can see the appeal of the competition, but for me it has to be the XB1 not only for the gaming but the whole overall experience.

Just weird how they can't get a game like COD at 1080p on the xbox. Might just be the developers at blame here but who knows. I think MS should have really worked with them and help them reach that 1080p because after all xbox is suppose to be the console for COD and this is a dent in the reputation.

Doesn't bother me anyways, I'm still getting the X1 and Ghosts. I never really got along with the PS3 so I probably won't pick up a PS4 for another 2 years or when there's a nice price drop.

The launch titles aren't going to be an accurate representation of either console's performance though, all the devs are clearly going to have been rushing to get things finished in time.

1080p to 720p isn't really close though, it's a different league all together.
