**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I wouldn't abbreviate the name to XO by the way, what are you going to call the Xbox Two and Three when they come out? And the Xbox Four and Five. And the Xbox Six and Seven for that matter.

Well I can almost certainly say the next one won't be called the Xbox Two.

They should just switch to names, I liked Infinity personally.

You know what I'm going to call it? Xbox. Who talks about the old one any more? It's clear what I'm referring to.

I'm waiting for people to start listing "Xbox 1"s on ebay with a stock picture of an xbox logo. It will be like the xbox box all over again.

So absolutely everything anyone saying about being charged twice for the game and all that are just plucking stuff out of the air again?

DO we know of any policy or where Sony stand with this kind of thing, have they came out and said you can do as you like with the disc?

thing I need to know is what have sony not told us yet, we don't know there plans for second hand games. what if the small fee is £2-3 quid? and goes straight to devlopers?

That's nuts. You could have schools full of mates lending their discs around and each one of them is only playing £2 instead of £40 to play?

Naaaah I cant wait for the really stupid people buying a 'Xbox 1' on eBay thinking they got a bargain and being sent the original console instead :p

EDIT: Dno why Ive duplicated what you just said :p. Trust me to mis-read...

I thought it was given the title Xbox One as it is an all in one entertainment hub?

Also.. I suspect an adapter will be released by Astro/TB etc.. They are high end headset manufacturers so I would expect nothing less!

but at the moment there lending them for free?

Difference being you currently still need a physical disc. Xbox One you don't after install, so going by your theory the whole world could use one disc to install a game with everyone (bar the original sucker) paying £2 to have access to a full game.

True I see your point, will the Xboxone require the disc in once installed?
what about if each disc has a unique code and can only be installed on one console per time? or gamer profile per time?

Their plan is to assign it to a profile, not a console. That way you can install it on your mate's console and play it by signing in to your profile.

If he then wants to play it on his profile, he'll have to pay for it - and he'll get an unlock key, and may be able to use the existing install and not need a disc.

In the same way that some games need an online pass, I think these games will just need an offline pass to work. The cheapest I can see them being is about £7.99

I'd assume you'd still need the disc in the drive as an anti-piracy check, much like how the 360 does HDD installs. *shrug*
