**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

So why is he saying the new Xbox won't be able to do 60FPS? or are you just not following?

You think that if the PS4 can hit 60fps, using the full potential of its hardware, that the gulf between the specs, wont therefore mean the Xbox one will have to sacrifice something?

I thought you were smarter than that

Obviously when 60fps is easily achieveable, there wont be a problem. But I'm talking about the games that take the PS4 spec to the brink, inorder to achieve the 60

Again you should read what I replied too before once again jumping in.

16ms isn't a lot of time to get your data to the GPU etc and it's what is required to maintain 60FPS

Maybe you should clarify your point as it's coming across as crazy speak.

60fps means that the hardware has 16ms of time to complete each frame. PS4's ram can supply the hardware with 170GB/s, the Xbone 68GB/s with a 32mb cache for framebuffer tweaks.

Therefore if both consoles were running a 60fps game the PS4 could theoretically have 2.5GB per frame to create the scene and the Xbone 1GB.

Huge.

interesting clarification from Major Nelson with regards used games

http://majornelson.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-and-used-games/

aka we're gonna wait and see what Sony does at E3. If sony goes on record at E3 and says people can play used games the same way they do now, they will follow suit.

They know its financial suicide to have their console restrict used games while sony's is fine about it.

I bet Sony introduce a similar system. I doubt EA would just drop their online pass otherwise.

Yeah I imagine so, probably Nintendo told them no hence why they are dumping on it.

Nothing at all due to 3rd party games selling horribly on the Wii U, right?

3rd party games have sold higher numbers on the Vita and that's quite sad considering how badly the Vita is doing atm.

Agreed, I know Xbox One are getting all the bad press at the moment, but only because they've confirmed aspects of full disc installations, linking said game to a profile, and the requirement of regularly contacting the Live servers to keep things active.

There's nothing been said by Sony atall, Its entirely possible they have a similar setup planned. They were looking into DRM technologies afterall

that much hasn't even been confirmed.

and ps4 is refusing to comment if they have anything similar,

so in the reality other than the rough specs and a few media features we know sod all about either.

Even in a Xbox thread you want to talk about Wii U sale figures, seek help soon :p

I find it amusing how last gen tech specs were really important and this gen it doesn't really matter.
Anyways how will the eu react to the second hand game limitations? Will charging full price be seen as ok? Never liked how ms didn't allow 3rd party wheels to work with the 360, with whats been anounced i feel thats its going to get worst.

Better than suggesting EA has some agenda against Nintendo when it's obvious they aren't releasing games on the console because they won't make enough money out of it, EA aren't doing so great financially at the moment, Nintendo aren't worth the risk currently.

this is assuming MS goes that route, yet again this is not confirmed, let alone what price level it would be.

But specs are getting slightly less relevant, many of us still game perfectly well on very outdated pc hardware. Although you still want as much bang for your buck.
I'm waiting for far more details, lets see if they confirm second hand market and online drm first, then well see what sony say as well as many other aspects. Hopfully E3 will have the proper release of information for both.

I think there was a story up confirming full installation, and linking to profiles.

BUT, Since then there has also been an update stating that you'll beable to play the game on any console you're able to sign in to your profile on.

And that you can unlink the game from your console also, allowing for resale, giving to friends, etc
