Unfortunately HDMI pass through doesn't work with the console off, which is what I was hoping for. I've stuck my Roku through it instead as that gets less use than Sky.

Thanks for confirming no pass through. Guess that means my input will be unused for now then. Thats a bit of a shame.
 
Anyone struggling with the voice commands? The kinect hears me about 1 out of 3 attempts. It's intermittent as some times I could have spurts of excellent recognition. I'm a clear spoken yorkshire man, and the kinect has been configured twice.

Also some of the commands (when it works for me) are odd - "Xbox play disc" will not work for me, however "xbox select" > "play disc" works. Is that just me or is that how it's supposed to work?

Given me a headache! :p
 
Am I being an idiot... what's wrong with the pass through being off when the console is off?

I like the idea of the console being on to watch Sky, so you can quickly flick to other things if you need to.

Maybe it doesn't understand people from Rotherham?

For those of you experiencing voice recognition issues, make sure you are constructing your sentences like 'XBox, go home' as opposed to 'XBox go home'. When you say XBox it begins to listen, you take a slight pause then say your command. As I noted earlier, I'm from Northern Ireland so if it can understand me everytime it should understand most people.

Id debate if PlayTo actually even uses DLNA as its streaming protocol, its definitely not certified last time I looked - not much info out there. Be interesting to see if you can push stuff from other non-Windows based DLNA servers..

Shouldnt do if you dont abuse it - theyll see the packet headers at most and work out its not mobile data traffic, but least youll get the day one patch installed...

This is what separated good reviewers from the terrible ones, how you pronounce the instruction to it are the key, and was also pretty obvious from day one, I think just sayinig xBox, is what activates the Mic as its not "on" really all the time.
