**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Had 2-3 hours on mine last night. Initial impressions:

Generally, I'm really impressed with the console - from build quality, to the pad design, to the user interface. I think it'll take a while to work out exactly how to use everything! I've got my Sky going into it for example, but I don't know why as I think that means the Xbox will have to be on at all times for me to get into Sky? I dunno, maybe I'll change this.

Onto games, Dead Rising 3 - I'll echo the previous comments, it's just carnage! Very enjoyable.

FIFA14 - Massive surprise at how good this looks and plays, what an upgrade over the previous gen.

I'm yet to play COD Ghosts yet, but I'll probably have a blast online at some point today. I'm already thinking about what games to buy next. Impressed by the £44.99 price tag of Ryse and Forza on the Store.

Yep, unless you are splitting the Sky signal or don't watch Sky very often, it's currently pointless hooking Sky up until they either implement proper pass through so it can still be watched when the console if off, or set up the One guide to work with Sky which I don't think will happen anytime soon, if ever.
 
OK I can't get one from anywhere in my home town and as I cba to start heading elsewhere on the off chance someone will have one, I am now going to wait for my Amazon order which is due for delivery on the 13th December.

Please everyone, in around 8 years time remind me to preorder early. Thanks.
 
Anyone got any issues with their controllers?

I've got 2 here and on one the top part of the casing is bowed out on the right side and there is black missing from the X of the guide button.

The other one has the same bowing problem but on the left side, like the two halves aren't aligned properly. Because of this also, if you rub your hand on the bottom, the corner where the 3 sections of case meet is quite sharp.

This was all in the PS4 thread last night and people were using it for any item. It's since been made invalid but don't know if Xbox games still work.
 
I thought that Julie Larson-Green woman was in charge of Xbox now? Why has she not said anything since she took over from Dan Mattress?
 
Possibly a stupid question...

I was assuming that the Kinect unit had some kind of hook bit at the back, which secured it to the TV... but it looks like you just have to balance it on top?!

I've got a pretty slim TV sitting on a rack (and I don't want to have the Kinect unit below it) and I just can't see how it's supposed to be securely "balanced" on top of the TV :O

I have that issue the bottom right corner of the 3 section isnt fitted properly compared to the other side. tho i dont hold near there so not too fuss
