Gah trying to buy a Forza 5 code but I swear most people are putting up Car packs instead of the game, luckily I've just been outbid for one!

So is it against the EULA to buy from the American store? Also how do I do it?

Anyone know if any where is likely to have any stock :p Or am I likely to have to wait a while. I can't be bothered to go look as I would be too depressed to walk away without one :D

When the Xbox is in instant on mode and performs updates I the background, how do you know when it has updated?

For instance if a game gets patched and I turn on my Xbox in the morning how will I know it's been done as we can't access the system files.

Anyone been able to get their free fall map code on COD Ghosts to work??...havent been able to redeem it for the past few days.
 
So what's with these 1st time installs like, why has the Xbox One seemingly gone so badly backwards?

We tested six multiplatform games on both consoles and every time, the PS4 was under a minute while the Xbox One install was several minutes long and required downloading an update before beginning the installation. When you include downloading those updates for each Xbox One game that happen in the background on PS4, the install times can get as high as fifteen minutes before you can even launch the game.
Assassin's Creed IV:
Xbox One (offline, no update): 5 minutes 50 seconds
Xbox One (with update, fastest connection): 7 minutes 2 seconds
Xbox One (with update, 10Mbps connection): 10 minutes 32 seconds
PS4: 42 seconds

The rest of these were tested on our office Wi-Fi which is around 9-11Mbps. It may have been faster on a wired connection, but you can compare your own connection speed here. These are our results:

Need For Speed Rivals:
XBO: 09:25 (including update)
PS4: 00:32

Just Dance 2014:
XBO: 08:48 (including update)
PS4: 00:45

NBA Live 14:
XBO: 16:26 (including update)
PS4: 00:35

FIFA 14:
XBO: 16:06 (including update)
PS4: 00:34

Madden 25:
XBO: 9:38 (including update)
PS4: 00:38
 
PS4 lets you play once part of the game is installed, most XB1 games make you wait for the full install.

If waiting for 10 minutes once per game is going to change your mind or be a determining factor in which console you buy then you've got your gaming priorities wrong.
 
Jesus as much as I am liking the xbox it is annoying the hell out of me. Talking to your Xbox is very hit and miss to the point it seems pointless. Are you sure you want to the xbox off? I just told you ten ******** times.

you can play when part is installed ob xbone too.

long as they auto update i dont mind taking longer to install.
 
Ummmm, so with Xbox live down I can't play any single player games? Great.

I can't sign in, so both Dead rising and Forza don't work. And for some reason, killer instinct is randomly installing again?!

Ah Xbox.com confirms my fears... Live core services are limited at present. Fantastic.

Still confused as to why killer instinct is seemingly reinstalling itself!
