**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

yeah i know they are launch titles but the difference between 360s launch titles and the games coming out towards the end of the consoles lifespan wasn't that big, noticeable for sure but everything still looked very jaggy and low res and i fear thats going to be the same on the xbox one.

hopefully I'm wrong, i've let my mates be the guinea pigs this time around, will give it a year and see if things progress visually on the systems and then may consider picking one up if they have worked out how to run games at 1080p with proper AA.
 
Did you try Ryse at all? It looks gorgeous imo.

I'm sure 1080p isn't an issue, a lot of early titles are rushed for launch; be interesting to see how things progress, I don't believe the X1 is as easy to code for as before. Who knows though. I think for a 8-10year investment £430 is fair.
 
Guys if you want an xbox one head to stock informer.co.uk and check the argos online stock then use the argos android/iOS app to reserve it. The website is buggy but the app does it fine. I reserved 5 today in different places as I wasn't sure where I would be. So there is stock just be quick.

Warranty on the xbox one is only for one year or so it says on the microsoft site here: http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/warranties-and-repair/console-kinect-warranty

Without prejudice to any statutory warranty to which You may be entitled under any local law applicable to You, and unless any such law provides for a longer term, Microsoft offers this Warranty, for a term of one (1) year from the purchase date of such Xbox One from an authorized retailer, and 90 days for Accessories purchased from an authorized retailer.

But you could buy an extended warranty from M$ if you so wish to.

£59.99 for 3 yrs isnt too bad, might invest in one just to be on the safe side.
 
Something you don't hear much about is how much snappier the new gen consoles are over current gen in every manner, UI is snappy and quick, much better than my PS3 phat which is as sluggish as hell and very frustrating to use now.

That very generous for a console 8GB of system memory is really doing its stuff. menu's, loading times are miles better than current/last gen, makes a huge difference to my enjoyment.

It does. Killzone looks awesome as well. Really nice and I was worried my 1400p 780 sli would ruin it for me :)

I think both consoles were meant to run 720 and when the whole thing kicked off about ps4 they bumped up the res. Xbox have it running at 720 to make it more stable and although ps4 now runs at 1080 a lot of the multi platform games run worse for it. I have a feeling xbox could have patched the games the same but then they too would run worse......however.....I hope they sort this out because 1080p is about as low as I want my resolution :)
 
I want to Pre-Order Destiny so I get beta access but I am going full digital so don't want the actual disc, it's quite annoying :( ShopTo commit me to buy if I activate the beta code (and rightly so of course) - irritating.

Could risk the ShopTo order in the hope I can sell it to a mate or something I guess
 
Just had my first multiplayer game with Cheets (former poster) first time ive played any multiplayer battlefield, really enjoyed it, sound kept dropping off and the lag was pretty bad, if they can fix these then it will be really epic.

Really enjoying BF4 and COD ghosts on the xb1 so go for it mate. I didn't realise that ghosts also has a 2 play offline setting, which has been a godsend as far as my mrs is concerned. Booted up a level on safeguard mode with her and she actually enjoyed it lol. Good old coop fun that brings me back to my earlier console days (like over a decade ago!)

I was so close to ordering it, and if it had come with 2 out of Ryse/Need For Speed/NBA 2k14 instead of BF4 and COD I'd have gone through with it but I am just not that interested in those 2 games.

I think I am now resigned to waiting for my Fifa14 bundle from Amazon on the 13th December and get Dead Rising, Forza and Powerstar Golf from the download store.

Amazon, I cancelled mine after deciding I'm going all digital no problems
I activated the beta code months ago.

I'd feel bad about it but the won't let me pre order for digital games
