**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

What's the problem?

With the 360, the consoles were broken messes. With the One, we're getting broken consoles and the controllers are flimsy, poorly assembled and in many cases damaged.

Ive read about one broken console, and the only people I have seen complain about controllers are a few in here. No one I know have had a single problem.

Can someone with an Xbox One do me a favour and tell me what language is detailed on the serial number/product ID sticker on the bottom of the console.

Specifically the language for the contains & Cofetel id. Mine is in Spanish.

Yeah looks like I have bit of spanish on mine also, or Italian (not sure what is it). Other stuff is "Made in China" and "Hello from Seattle" with Redmond, WA as the MS address.

The PS4 isn't doing any better tbh.

It's a shame as we're paying so much for the consoles. I do think that MS's main problems are from the controller and headset. The controller isn't great for quality (the lip in the analog stick annoys me, along with the questionable build), and the headset feels like it will break in about 20 seconds of wearing it.

Mine is "consumo de energia" which Google says is Portuguese.

Anyone know the support centre number?

I was given a US number by the support people and told it was the UK number, despite it being wrong.

Edit: NVM, found it on the MS site.

2-3 working days for a replacement console, they were very helpful.

Are the pads covered by MS Warranty direct ??

I'm on my third pad but Game will not replace it now because it technically works and they can't really find a "fault" with it.. the problem is (and has been with the others) that the stick does not recentre properly, it will spring back into an "about" centre position but you need to actually centre it manually. It's difficult to explain but centred is actually loose and the stick can rock back and forth which means if you were to push forward on the stick it has to travel a distance before hitting any resistance, thus making the dead-zone big and difficult to judge as the loose bit does nothing at all, that and you can feel an uneven movement when using it.

I'm not sure what to do next, if this is honestly the quality of the pads and considered an acceptable quality then I'm at loss because it is rubbish.

Quote from major nelson on the update. It looks like those of us who don't use instant on should get the update tomorrow.

A. If you are using the Xbox One “Instant On” (the low power state that allows you to instantly power up your console by saying “Xbox On”), your console automatically checks for updates when you turn it off. Once we make the update available (on Tuesday, December 10th, 5:00 PM PT) this means the following will happen:

Your console will automatically download the update after you turn it off. Once the update has been downloaded in the background, your console will power completely down. Please note: You will need to manually power your console back on after the update has been downloaded. Because the update will power your console completely down, the “Xbox On” voice command won’t be available until after the update is fully installed.
When you turn the console on you’ll see the update being applied. After that, your Xbox One will reboot. You’ll know the update is installing when you see the Xbox logo on the green background (like at the top of this post.) This can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Once the update has finished installing, you’ll boot to the Home screen and you’re all set.
Don’t worry, if you are out of town for the holidays, you console also does regular checks for updates and will download it in the background even if you have not used you Xbox One in a couple of days.

B. If you are not using the Xbox One “Instant On” feature, you will be required to download and apply this update after Thursday, December 12th at 2:00 AM PT.

This update addresses the following:

Addresses SmartGlass issues for some users when coming in and out of connected standby
Addresses multiplayer issues for some users when re-joining games
Addresses issues with inconsistent notifications for some users
Addresses dashboard performance for some users
Offers improvements for Xbox One’s TV, system update, and content update services for scaling over time
Updated wireless networking driver to improve connectivity issues for some users

We’ve got quite a few updates planned for the next year based on the community feedback we’ve been seeing, and I’ll have details on those in the future.

Thanks and I’ll see you online.

You can actually request a free call from the MS site.

I would insist GAME replace it. It's not your fault you've had 3 replacements if they aren't fit for purpose they aren't fit for purpose. I wouldn't take no for an answer.

But to answer yes accessories are covered by MS however you have to pay the postage cost back to MS and they say turnaround can be up to 3 weeks.

Well my pad no longer rumbles after this update anybody else had this issue ?

Tried 3 different games an still nothing i hasn't been dropped or anything its really weird.

Try some different batteries. I noticed the rumble stops working when your batteries start to run low.

Thanks for that suggestion it worked :D so when the batteries get low in the pad it disables the rumble effect :o didn't do that on the old pad :p

I remember the rumble disappearing when the batteries got low, when I had a 360.

this whole time i plugged my xbox one directly into the monitor. Tonight I bought a THX certified £1200 pioneer receiver and was shocked at how fuzzy letterso n the dashboard are now totally noiseless............I literally had no idea a video processor could improve my picture with such a great monitor! I think the processor is doing the scaling now instead of my dell or something.
have now tried it A/B testing and the picture has fuzz around letters without the amp!
