**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Can't decide, XBOX ONE with Forza or PS4 with GT6?
Will be playing FIFA 14 on either, too.

Ive been playing both for the last week.

GT6 has nice progression where Forza throws everything at you and lets you pick what you want out of the pile, which to me feels more grindy.

Graphics in Forza are better, but not by as much as next-gen would have you believe. Frame rate is much more stable compared to GT6 however and that does make a significant difference.

AI in GT6 is as in the other 5, but they dont, so far do the STUPID things Forza's AI does, like lifting off on the apex and braking too heavy. I've lost count how many times I run into the back of the Forza cars because they just cannot get round a corner at a competitive speed without lifting in the middle; and that's using Expert Drivatars, so I dont think its down to difficult level. Given that I cannot assume Forza will give me Drivatars from skilled drivers every race who might actually be able to get round the circuit safely, I am currently finding GT6 more predictable and enjoyable; totally the opposite if what I thought I would think. YMMV because I hate racing online and thats sometimes what the Forza AI feels like; many would call that an advantage.

Content is another big difference. GT6 has everything and the kitchen sink, although many car models are previous gen quality. Forza has 15 tracks and they get very repetitive very quickly to the point I end up thinking oh no, not Yas Marina AGAIN!

I'm probably not going to help much by telling you it's a 0-0 draw for me. Both games have flaws, neither is anywhere near perfect, but I am enjoying playing both...

It is but really if EA can convert their games to run on the new consoles quick enough then so could Sony.

GT is a platform exclusive. I doubt the engine was ever intended run on multiple architectures.

EA are the polar opposite and creating lowest denominator crap don't develop for a specific platform or architecture.

Polyphony Digital will knock out GT7 when the time is right.

Does anyone else wish they really ignored the cries and gone with there initial plans fort the XO? I would really enjoy game swapping without actually physically swapping the game.

got all my games digitally except BF4, so far I have never swapped a disk.

Problem will be when titanfall comes out at £55 as a download with less than you get if you pre-order it. then I'll have to make a choice.

I don't have access to an Xbox One at the moment but how are the digital downloads priced at the moment? Are they still ridiculous like the 360 prices?

They are more expensive than decent online retailers selling physical copies. By maybe £5 - £10. I am personally going to buy all the games via live to save having to change disc and space taken up by game boxes. It could be a stupid move on my part but I'd rather go digital.

They are around £55 for digital copies but you can get £50 Xbox codes from Shopto for £45ish or cheaper on the grey market which makes them nearer retail prices.

I'm not sure there's any "could be" about it, to be brutally honest. As retail prices come down the download versions are only going to be more expensive by comparison. If the price difference is £10 per game, for every four games you buy you could have had a fifth.
