**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Apparently a few thousand people followed the "guide" to make the ONE backwards compatible with 360 games by enabling developer mode leading to their consoles getting bricked.

I don't really know wether to laugh at the people who have followed to guide or hate the jealous scrotes who came up with the idea.

The same people also trended for making a lot of people think that IOS 7 made their iPhones waterproof a few months ago.

Can someone tell me what outputs the One has please? I bought an HDMI cable for my monitor (which I am sure has HDMI input) but I just realised it has no speakers, and therefore I won't get any sound.

I need RCA outputs for my hifi system (Yamaha AS-700 - Accoustic Energy NEO v3's) ideally, or at the very least an optical out (which is going to cost me £120 as I will need a DAC).

Potentially expensive error :(

What model and make is the monitor ? it should have a audio output jack next to the connections it looks like a
headphone socket..

Source? Because unless it's MS I don't see how anyone could know what the figures are.

Has anyone sussed out how to get the Xbox One playing MKV files?

I've tried Skifta, but it seems crap. If only things were as easy as ps3 media server for windows, it encoded on the fly so I could stream from network drive onto my TV!

I just got Ryse tonight and after playing for 2-3 hours I have no idea why it got such bad reviews.

It looks amazing and is a fun hack em up game that does what it says on the tin, the COOP gladiator thing is a good laugh and the story is pretty fun so far as well.

There seems to be a tendency to mark down new launch IP for some reason. Same happened with Knack on PS4. Knack is a really good game and don't know anyone who's played it who didn't like it. Seems a similar situation with Ryse.
I will pick Ryse up when it drops in price as simply have too many games to play and not enough time.

I really enjoyed Ryse. I was in two minds about getting it after seeing some of the early reviews, I'm glad I ignored them. It's a simple hack and slash game, exactly what I was expecting :p I'm still playing the odd Gladiator game too, I'll get to 100 eventually :)

If you will use the media side of it, yes.

Mine has only really been used for Lovefilm. I had Forza but got bored of it after about 10 hours play due to the lack of tracks (about 6 tracks altogether) .

Robo think you need to do a bit more PLAYING,,

If you include the Variations there are 42 tracks , which is loads to keep me busy , guess the game "just Wasn't for you"

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how can you (assuming you can!) do the Kinect gestures to browse the main UI and do things like expanding the main window (like what was showed off during the reveal)?

There is a guide on the xbox somewhere. I've not found that side of it very good so far to be honest. The voice control is great but I've found it doesn't pick up my hand very quickly. Maybe sitting too far away though (6-8ft).

Same just downloaded this on xmas eve and am now half way thru on normal. It's amazing looking and the gameplay is seriously fun and super fast! The scale of everything is huge and they disguise the corridor nature of the game well with vast scenery. The story and characters are amazingly endearing.

I also enjoyed Ryse. It's a bit short for a full price retail game at current prices but then you wouldn't want it to be any longer.

I'd probably give it 6.5-7/10.

Likewise, completed this yesterday afternoon as it happens.

Fantastic game and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline which I was very much able to immerse myself into.
By the end I'd finally mastered deflecting heavy attacks, they are a buggar!

The multiplayer is very fun, but quickly played through all of the arenas and they soon become repetitive. Am at level 11 or so but somewhat a bit bored of it already.
Would recommend to anyone, and as you mention the game length is a little short, but given the storyline it all tied in and worked together perfectly.

An 8.5/10 from me, Marius is the man!

Nope, found it very easy with hardly any compitition. Online you either thrashed them or they purposely knock you off track and ruin your race.

More into open worlds like Horizon.

Still considering BF4 but not too bothered to be honest, just want to have at least 1 game lying around lol, just incase I do fancy a play around.
