**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I hope Sony go a similar direction, I've grown out of weirdly shaped cheap looking plastic. It would be nice to have a more refined, minimal approach and let the games do the talking.

That's what they should always be doing. I haven't really owned a console since my PS2, but I'm rather interested this generation. It all depends on the games to me.

What are they though? Until we have names and gameplay footage there is nothing.

It is a pretty safe bet that two will be Halo and Forza, though what the new ones are who knows.

E3 is going to be interesting and fingers crossed we find out some of the information we actually want to know. Main thing for everyone has to be info and preview of games, though personally hoping for some more info about chat functionality as don’t want to change headset when I change to a new console.

Are people really that bothered about the thumb stick position? If Sony still have the left thumb stick in the ‘wrong place’ does that mean the 360 has the right thumb stick in the wrong place? I do much prefer the 360 controller but that is due to size and shape. Thumbsticks and buttons are all moveable but as long as the controller is comfortable to use then easy to adapt.

E3 will make or break the XBone in the eyes of gamers everywhere. Not sure how MS managed to steal Sony's "douchebag" mantle this generation, but it is quite an impressive accomplishment all the same...

...not to say that Sony will also have some douche-baggery in the works for gamers, but what the hey, as a PC gamer this is all just a side-show to complement my popcorn ;)

Quite true. Although I think they're both going to be rather similar, since they're essentially HTPC's now, and heat seems to be issue. Considering the XBone's vents and huge fan.

The Xbox One layout is very, very similar to the current 360S.

Large fan does not equal lots of heat.

A large fan is used as it can run at a lower rpm and shift the same amount of air as a small fan running at high rpm producing a lot of noise. While the larger fan will be silent.

Fixed that for you

The two I run are, but I have them on a fan controller. As you say this one will be temp controlled. Just hoping both ps4 and XO run quieter than the consoles they replace, my PC can be loud as I wear a headset which cuts most the fan noise out. Not so with my consoles.

If you are allowed to play pre owned games but then have to pay full RRP for it to activate it, you in fact haven't bought a game at all just a copy of the files, but not the license to play it.

Its this part that they are being coy about. Its all very well saying yes you can play a used game, but this is useless if you still have to pay full price for a license to use it.

Where on Earth does the MSRP thing keep popping up from? Charging MSRP for a license to play a used game isn't a solution. People would have to be broken in the head to pay for a used copy of the game and then MSRP for a license to activate it. It would make no sense. Why implement a system for transferring licenses (or removing them or whatever) and then do that? It would void the point in the entire system as a new copy would actually be cheaper.

The only time I've seen MSRP mentioned has been in relation to installing a game on a friend's Xbox. You can play it. He can play it with you. If he wants to play it alone, he can pay MSRP (or the current price on Xbox Live) for a license, unlocking the game instantly.

for real? Well enjoy your Xbox One with no original content, no indie backing , and dodgy installation features that even MS cant get right, but remember you got tv support so all is well!

no original content?

15 exclusives, 8 of which are said to be new IPs in the first year. At least wait for E3 before you come out with comments like that.

Not so for you.

Loads of people play consoles using headsets. It's why MS has introduced the data port instead of the headphone jack on the xbox one controller, to get a slice of the sales from headphones.
